    • A variable displacement pump (1) for fluids comprises movable regulation members (11) which, as operating conditions of the pump (1) vary, perform an oscillatory movement about an axis (18), against the action of opposing members (23), between two extreme positions corresponding to a maximum displacement and a minimum displacement of the pump (1), respectively. The opposing members (23) have opposite ends (23 A, 23B) engaging centring and transversally retaining members (26, 27) associated with a stationary part (10) of the pump and the movable members (11), and an intermediate portion freely deformable during the movement of the movable members. The opposing members (23) have a ratio between a transversal size and a longitudinal size in the range 1 to 5, and the longitudinal axis thereof (28) does not cross said oscillation axis (18) and forms a plane curve in a deformed condition of the same members (23).

    • A variable displacement pump (1) comprises a regulation ring (11) having at least a pair of actuation stages (19, 20), of which a first stage is permanently exposed to pressure conditions of the pumped fluid and is arranged to make the regulation ring (11) move against the action of a spring (23), and a second stage is arranged to act concordantly with the spring (23) in a manner controlled by an electrically-controlled valve (50). A spool valve (40), controlled by the electrically-controlled valve (50) and the pressure conditions of the pumped fluid, is connected between the second stage (20) and the electrically- controlled valve (50) and is arranged to modulate a regulation pressure acting on the second stage (20) depending on a control signal supplied by the electrically-controlled valve (50) and on such pressure conditions. A method for regulating the displacement of such a pump is also provided.

    • A variable displacement vane pump for fluids is provided where displacement regulation is achieved thanks to the variation of the relative eccentricity between a regulation ring (11) in which the rotor (13) is arranged and the rotor itself. In a region of engagement between the external surface (11 A) of the regulation ring (11) and the internal surface (40A) of a chamber (40) inside which the regulation ring (11) moves, a plurality of rolling elements (25), mounted in fixed relative position, is provided. The rolling elements (25) are provided only over a portion of such a region of engagement, including a zone (S) where a resultant of mechanical and fluidic forces generated in the pump during the regulation acts. The invention also concerns a method of regulating the displacement of such a pump.
