摘要： The present invention provides an improved method for obtaining a bark extract by hydrolysis and acidification in the presence of water. The method comprises the steps of subjecting birch bark to hydrolysis; separating the undissolved bark portions from the hydrolysis liquid; providing a liquid phase and acidifying this liquid phase; precipitating the extracts from the liquid phase by raising the relative amount of water in the liquid phase and recovering the extract. Further the invention relates to an animal feed obtainable by this method and to the use of the birch bark extract in food, animal feed, pulp, paper and board, pigments and barriers for paper coating.

摘要： In a method for preparing fuel components from crude tall oil, feedstock containing tall oil comprising unsaturated fatty acids is introduced to a catalytic HDO step (2) to convert unsaturated fatty acids, rosin acids and sterols to fuel components. Crude tall oil is purified in a purification step (1) by washing it with washing liquid and separating the purified crude tall oil from the washing liquid, whereafter the purified crude tall oil is introduced directly to the catalytic HDO step (2) as a purified crude tall oil feedstock. An additional feedstock, such as Fischer Tropsch (FT) wax or turpentine, may be supplied to the catalytic HDO step (2).

摘要： Abstract The invention relates to a method for separating components from fuel raw material, where tall oil feedstock is introduced to a continuous process comprising a catalytic hydrodeoxygenation step to convert unsaturated fatty acids to fuel components. A light fraction comprising the unsaturated fatty acids is separated from a heavier fraction of the feedstock, and the light fraction is introduced separately to the hydrodeoxygenation step and taken out as fuel component product stream, and the heavier fraction comprising sterols is left untreated in the hydrodeoxygenation step and is taken out as residual stream. The separation step and the hydrodeoxygenation step take place in the same reactor. The invention also relates to an apparatus for separating components from fuel raw material.
