摘要： The present principles provide a method and apparatus for performing time window based adaptive advertisement insertion into video on demand (VOD) programs. The method inserts advertisements dynamically according to the actual content viewing time, as opposed to the fixed advertisement insertion points in traditional ad insertion. The method minimizes the negative impact caused by inserted ads to viewers in interactive session, in which trick modes, such as fast forward and rewind are frequently used.

摘要： A method for securely transferring a multiplicity of short messages using an unsecure connection which begins by loading a secure domain component on a client device (130) using a secure connection and then loading an unsecure domain component on the client device (130). Encrypted messages are sent from an unsecure server (110) to the unsecure domain component. The client device (130) transfers the received encrypted message from the unsecure domain to the secure domain, where the secure domain component decrypts the received encrypted messages. This method works repeatedly without reloading either the secure domain component or the unsecure domain component and by using the unsecure connection to transfer the encrypted messages.

摘要： A system for program information discovery is described. A method and a device for generating and inserting a watermark for such program information discovery into a program signal to be rendered are disclosed, along with the corresponding method and device for watermark detection and decoding from the rendered program signals. Watermark, which carries channel/program information, is encoded and embedded at the set top box where the program streams are received and decoded for rendering. Second screen devices are employed for watermark detection and decoding by capturing the render program signals which has the watermark embedded. The extracted watermark information may be sent to information servers for more detailed channel/program information.
