摘要： The invention relates to a method of encoding an image divided into non-overlapping macroblocks themselves divided into non-overlapping blocks of N by N pixels into a binary stream. It comprises the steps of : - transforming each of the block into a transformed block of coefficients comprising one low frequency coefficient and N2-1 coefficients, called high frequency coefficients, of higher frequencies than the low frequency; - quantizing each coefficient of each of the transformed blocks with a quantizing parameter; - encoding the quantized coefficients into a binary stream. According to the invention, the low frequency coefficients of the transformed blocks are quantized with a same quantizing parameter, called first quantizing parameter.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for determining quantization parameter predictors from a plurality of neighboring quantization parameters. An apparatus includes an encoder (300) for encoding image data for at least a portion of a picture using a quantization parameter predictor for a current quantization parameter to be applied to the image data. The quantization parameter predictor is determined using multiple quantization parameters from previously coded neighboring portions. A difference between the current quantization parameter and the quantization parameter predictor is encoded for signaling to a corresponding decoder.

The apparatus includes a feature of interest color model parameters estimator and a feature of interest detector. The feature of interest color model parameters estimator is for extracting at least one set of pixels from at least one image. The at least one set of pixels corresponds to a feature of interest. For each of the at least one set of pixels, the feature of interest color model parameters estimator models color components of pixels in the at least one set with statistical models, and estimates feature of interest color model parameters based on the modeled color components to obtain at least one estimated feature of interest color model. The feature of interest detector is for detecting feature of interest pixels from the at least one set of pixels using the at least one estimated feature of interest color model.
