摘要： The present technology relates to stable antimicrobial compositions comprising a combination of undecylenic acid and one or more organic acids or salts thereof, which can be useful for sanitizing laundry and fabrics. These botanical compositions can still achieve antimicrobial efficacy and keep bacteria counts low while exhibiting exceptional stability. The present technology also relates to methods of disinfecting laundry or fabrics, comprising contacting such compositions to the laundry or fabrics, including adding any of the compositions to a washing machine or automatic laundering machine.

摘要： The addition of low concentrations of combinations of water-soluble organic salts of zinc to gels, creams, lotions or ointments can increase the ability of these products to reduce or prevent exogenous irritants from causing irritation of the underlying substrate. The addition of low concentrations of combinations of water-soluble organic zinc salts to these gels, creams, lotions or ointments also can reduce the irritation of skin or mucous membranes caused by the addition of potentially-irritating substances such as spermicides, microbicides, fungicides or other therapeutic agents to the gel, cream, lotion or ointment. The advantages of this anti-irritant approach over others, which generally employ high concentrations of single zinc salts, are the reduced potential for zinc toxicity, the reduced potential for toxicity related to zinc itself, and the preservation of the desirable biological properties of potentially-irritating therapeutic substances added to the gel, cream, lotion or ointment.

摘要： Disclosed herein are antimicrobial compositions and methods of producing an antimicrobial effect in which a citrus extract such as Biosecur® is used in combination with benzyl alcohol and one or more additional agent selected from the group consisting of lauroyl arginate/ glyceryl laurate and essential oils or constituents thereof such as galangal oil, thyme oil, thymol, cinnamon leaf oil, cinnamon bark oil, lemongrass oil, orange oil, pine oil, cedarwood oil, curry leaf oil, and rosemary oil. These compositions may be used as natural preservatives for personal care products, foods, beverages, and as topical or surface disinfectants.

摘要： The present invention relates to compositions comprising a combination of one or more antiseptic and an antibiotic. It is based, at least in part, on the discovery that such combinations tend to deter the formation of antibiotic-resistant organisms. In preferred, nonlimiting embodiments of the invention, the antibiotic is minocycline and the antiseptic is a chlorhexidine compound, triclosan, or benzalkonium chloride, and in particular embodiments, a silver salt or a bismuth salt is added. Examples of specific, nonlimiting embodiments of the invention include combinations of (i) minocycline, triclosan, and a bismuth salt; (ii) minocycline, a chlorhexidine compound, and a bismuth salt; and (iii) minocycline, benzalkonium chloride, and a bismuth salt. The present invention further provides for articles, such as, but not limited to, medical articles, which have been treated with or which otherwise comprise a combination of antiseptic and antibiotic.
