摘要： System and method are disclosed for bridging a point-to-point network such as a Bluetooth scatternet with a shared medium network such as an Ethernet LAN. The scatternet is connected to the LAN via a network access point (NAP). Data packets sent from the LAN to the scatternet are filtered at the NAP to eliminate unnecessary data packets from being sent to the scatternet. Only certain ones of the data packets are forwarded between the LAN and the scatternet. An inter-NAP protocol is used to exchange messages where two or more NAPs are connected to the LAN. Broadcast loops are prevented from occurring in the scatternet and the LAN by defining Administrative domains and NAP service areas (NAPSAs) and controlling the borders thereof according to a broadcast type of the data packets.

摘要： The present invention relates to a Domain Name System, DNS, server (10) and a method for resolving DNS queries from a number of clients (12). The DNS server (10) comprises multiple virtual DNS server instances (13-1, 13-2, 13-3) servicing different clients (12). The DNS server (10) further comprises a shared cache (S1) for caching records which indicate answers to resolved DNS queries. The shared cache (S1) is shared between a set of virtual DNS server instances. The virtual DNS server instances that share the shared cache are able to cache DNS query results in the shared cache as well as resolve a DNS query by retrieving a cached record corresponding to the DNS query from the shared cache. Thus it is possible for a virtual DNS server instance to make use of DNS query results obtained by other virtual DNS server instances.

摘要： A method of establishing a traffic route for a mobile network node attached to a mobile router, where the mobile router has a plurality of upstream interfaces available to it. The method comprises sending from the mobile router to the mobile node, identifiers of the interfaces and of their properties, the identifiers mapping to IPv6 traffic classes or IPv4 type of service. In the case of IPv6, the identifiers may be contained within router advertisement messages broadcast by the mobile router. At the mobile network node, an interface is chosen based upon the identified interface properties. The traffic class or type of service field of at least certain outgoing packets includes the identifier of the chosen interface. At the mobile router, packets are routed across the interface corresponding to the identifier contained in the traffic class or type of service fields, typically using rules created upon detection of a traffic class value in a packet header.
