    • The present invention relates to a joint prosthesis (1 ) comprising two prosthesis components (2, 3) intended to be applied respectively to the trapezium (38) and the first metacarpal bone (39) of a thumb joint, each prosthesis component having a first or second screw-like part (4, 5) intended to be screwed firmly or be fastened to one of said bones (38 or 39) by means of bone cement, the one prosthesis component (2) having an articulating socket element (6) and the other prosthesis component (3) an articulating ball element (7). The fact that at least the prosthesis component (2) with the socket element (6) has an abutment portion (20) for abutment against the bone to which the screw-like part (4) of the prosthesis component is intended to be firmly screwed or be fastened by means of bone cement, normally the trapezium (38), prevents this prosthesis component from sinking into said bone.

    • The present invention relates to a device for internal fixation of the bone fragments (2, 3) in a radius fracture (4). The device comprises at least one body (1 ) for abutment against the bone fragments (2, 3) in the radius fracture (4), and fixing elements (6, 7) which are intended to be locked to the body for fixation of said bone fragments. The body (1 ) itself has in a distal end portion (1a) at least two predrilled holes (8) for fixing elements (6), and in a proximal end portion (1 b) at least two predrilled holes (9) for fixing elements (7). To allow effective optimum internal fixation of the bone fragments in the radius fracture, the predrilled holes (8, 9) run obliquely relative to a longitudinal axis (L) of the body (1 ) so that all of the fixing elements (6, 7) which, after the body has been caused to abut against the bone fragments (2, 3) in the radius fracture (4), are introduced into said bone fragments through holes (8, 9) in the body's distal end portion (1a) and proximal end portion (1 b) cross the radius fracture (4) as viewed in the transverse direction of the body. Each fixing element (6, 7) has at least one fixing portion (10; 10a, 10b) for locking the fixing element in the bone fragments (2, 3) in the radius fracture (4) and for locking the fixing element to the body (1 ).

    • The present invention relates to a system for internal fixation of bone fragments (4a, 4b) in a fracture (3) or of bones in a bone structure, which system comprises a plate (1 ) and at least two fixing elements (2) which can be screwed into the plate. With the object of providing a fixation system which affords largely unlimited freedom of choice as to where fixing elements may be screwed into the plate, the plate (1 ) is adapted to being applied abutting against bone fragments (4a, 4b) in the fracture (3) or against bones in the bone structure and is made of a material which can be shaped to the bone fragments or bones against which the plate is intended to abut. The material of the plate (1 ) is UHMWPE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) with an elasticity which makes it possible to screw fixing elements in the form of screws (2) in at any desired locations in the plate in such a way that the screws are locked in the plate by friction with respect to movements in axial, rotary and angular directions. Screwing the screws (2) into bone fragments (4a, 4b) in the fracture (3) or into bones in the bone structure results in fixation of said bone fragments or bones.
