    • The invention involves a device (100), e.g. an implantable medical device, adapted for physical connection to a body (10) of a user. The device (100) comprises an information manager (120) for managing sensitive information associated with the user or device (100), such as being arranged for retrieving the sensitive information from a memory (122) in the device (100). A sensor (130, 170) is arranged in or connected to the device (100) for sensing whether the device (100) is physically connected to the body (10) and worn by the user and for generating a signal representative of whether the device (100) is actually physically connected to the body (10). The information manager (120) is connected to the sensor (130) and is responsive to the generated signal and performs its information managing function based on the signal. The invention prevents, among others, fraudulent retrieval of sensitive data from the device (100) if the device (100) is not connected to or implanted in the intended user body (10).

    • The invention relates to exchange of medical data in healthcare system (1) comprising multiple patient domains (10, 20, 30) and where at least one of these domains (10) is isolated from the remaining domains (20, 30) in that a patient identifier manager (50, 250) does not have access to the patient identifiers utilized by the isolated domain (10). In this isolated domain (10) demographic data of a given patient (5) is provided and sent to the manager (50, 250). TMs manager (50, 250) compares the data with corresponding stored data to identify an identifier of the given patient (5) utilized by one of the other domains (20, 30). The identifier is returned to the domain (10) where it is employed for enabling an association of locally/externally generated medical data of the patient (5) with an externally/locally utilized identifier of the patient (5). The invention is in suitable for a system (1), in which the isolated domain (10) utilizes model and serial number of implantable medical devices as patient identifiers.

    • The invention involves a patient information hub (PIH) system (100) used in a healthcare system (400) for the management of data documents of a patient (1) having an implanted medical device (IMD) (200). The PIH system (100) comprises, in addition to the IMD (200), a portable non-implanted unit (300) having capability for communicating with the IMD (100). The PIH system (100) stores and manages a document list containing information of data documents of the patient (1) and information of in which data depositories (12, 22, 42) of the healthcare system (400) the documents are stored and can be retrieved from. The retrieval of the document list from the PIH system (100) for display on a screen (345) of the communicating unit or transmission to an external requesting unit (14) is made dependent on a communication operation involving the IMD (200) and the non-implanted unit (300).
