摘要： A distributed adaptive repeater system includes a donor unit, two or more coverage units (CUs), and an intelligent hub. The donor unit operates to maintain bidirectional wireless communication with a base station of a wireless communications network. Each coverage unit maintains bidirectional wireless communication with transceivers located within a respective coverage area, and is further adapted to independently control a signal path gain to ensure stability of a respective feeback loop to the donor unit. Finally, the intelligent hub is operatively coupled between the donor unit and the coverage units, and adapted to monitor a status of each coverage unit.

摘要： A distributed repeater architecture includes a donor unit having a donor antenna integrated with active electronic components, for receiving and amplifying RF signals from a fixed station of a wireless communications network. A coverage unit is coupled to the donor unit for processing the RF signals from the fixed station. A network of integrated active antenna modules (IAAMs) is coupled to the coverage unit. Each IAAM includes a respective antenna integrated with active electronic components, for amplifying and radiating the RF signals into a coverage area of the repeater. Weak desired signals, within each wideband signal path, are detected using a narrowband down converter and detector, and these desired signals monitored by the micro controller. Based on the monitored signals, the micro controller operates, under control of suitable software implementing an Adaptive Control Algorithm, to adjust the gain in each of the uplink and downlink paths in order to dynamically optimize performance.

摘要： A system operates to adaptively control the coverage area of an on frequency repeater. First RF signals received from a transceiver (such as a base station, or a subscriber's wireless communications device) are detected using a broadband detector, narrowband down converter and detector, and these detected signals are monitored by a micro controller. The micro controller operates, under control of suitable software implementing an Adaptive Control Algorithm, to adjust the ERP of second RF signals transmitted to the transceiver to thereby control the coverage area of the repeater, and maintain a substantially constant power level of the second RF signals received by the transceiver.
