摘要： A fall arrest unit (1) is provided for preventing injury of individuals or damage to articles resulting from a fall. The unit (1) comprises an outer casing (10) and inner cushioning means. The cushioning means comprise one or more flexible envelopes (20) housing a fluid such as air (21). The unit (1) is formed so as to be capable of being placed together in a closely adjacent relationship with one or more further such units to define a substantially continuous impact surface. An impact-absorbing surface comprising a plurality of fall arrest units, a method of constructing a fall arrest unit and a method of cushioning the fall of a person in the construction industry are also provided.

An outer casing (15) houses material (20) for absorbing impact force and an impact member (25) is provided to reinforce the unit. 摘要： A process and apparatus are provided for gasification of a carbonaceous material. The process produces a raw syngas that can be further processed in a tar destruction zone to provide a hot syngas. The process includes contacting said carbonaceous material with molecular oxygen-containing gas in a gasification zone to gasify a portion of said carbonaceous material and to produce a first gaseous product. A remaining portion of the carbonaceous material is contacted with molecular oxygen-containing gas in a burn-up zone to gasify additional portion of the carbonaceous material and to produce a second gaseous product and a solid ash. The first gaseous product and said second gaseous product are combined to produce a raw syngas that includes carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (C02) and tar. The raw syngas is contacted with molecular oxygen containing gas in a tar destruction zone to produce said hot syngas.

摘要： The present invention relates to a process for the production of one or more C2+ alcohols. In particular, the present invention relates to a process for the production of C2+ alcohols from a methane-containing feedstock, which process comprises: a. Passing said methane- containing feedstock and carbon dioxide to a non- oxidative reforming process to produce a first product stream comprising CO, H 2 and CO 2 , optionally in the presence of steam, but with the proviso that where steam is present in the feed to the reforming process the steam and CO 2 are present in a molar ratio of less than 5: 1, b. Passing the first product stream comprising CO, H 2 and CO 2 to a bacterial fermentation step wherein it is converted to produce a second product stream comprising one or more C2+ alcohols in the liquid phase and a gaseous third product stream comprising CO, H 2 and CO 2 , the fermentation step being operated to provide a conversion of CO of at least 60%, wherein CO, H 2 and CO 2 are recycled from the gaseous third product stream to the reforming process of step (a).
