By arranging the first attachment strip elements to be separated by a distance (x1, x2) which is at least as large as a major proportion of the width (w) of any one of the first attachment strip elements and by giving each of the second attachment strips a length (y1, y2) greater than that distance, the waistband region of the garment is given good stability whilst still maintaining the advantages of adjustable reclosure.
