摘要： A method and apparatus for transferring user information between different terminals are disclosed. The method includes saving by a first terminal, when a change is made to user information during playback of content, the changed user information in a scene history, performing a terminal change from the first terminal to a second terminal, and resuming, by the second terminal, playback of the content from a continued scene after the last scene played back by the first terminal. Consequently, in a terminal change, the user may use the second terminal to play back the same content from the continued scene using the same content usage environment as the first terminal.

摘要： Provided is a file format for encoded image data which can be reproduced into a lifelike stereoscopic image by a display apparatus for displaying a stereoscopic image. The file format for an encoded stereoscopic image includes an image data unit containing image information of the encoded stereoscopic image and a header unit containing meta data used to decode and reproduce the image information of the encoded stereoscopic image contained in the image data unit. The header unit can include at least one header unit of a camera header sub-unit containing information on left and right cameras used to acquire the stereoscopic image, a codec header sub-unit containing information on the encoding of the stereoscopic image, and a display header sub-unit containing information on a barrier type display apparatus for receiving and reproducing the encoded stereoscopic image data.

摘要： The construction method of NALU (Network Abstraction Layer Unit) for IPv6 label switching and its using algorithms of video encoding, QoS control, and decoding are provided. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the NALU format is composed of the NALH (Network Abstraction Layer Header) including the label and the NAL (Network Ab¬ straction Layer) payload. Here, the label is determined based on layer information which is combination of a spatial scalable level, a temporal scalable level, and a quality scalable level of the encoded data. The decoder uses the label to decide which one of multiple decoding modules is used to decode the current NAL payload. Moreover, the label can be included in the packet header so that the MANE (Media Aware Network Element) can use the label to decide whether to forward the packet or drop it. For example, the label in the packet header can be used for QoS control of video service by using the flow label field in IPv6 packet header. The IPv6 router can identify priority of the video packet by using the 20 bit long flow label, into which the label in NALH can be inserted. According to the embodiment, the MANE assumed in the MPEG and JVT (Joint Video Team) can be implemented effectively.

摘要： Provided are a bS derivation process and a deblocking filtering method and apparatus using illumination compensation and/or chrominance compensation, such as a multi-view video coding, in a picture coding/decoding process in which a prediction coding is performed. If neither of the two blocks are intra-coded, neither of the two blocks do contain a none-zero transformed coefficient, and motion compensation for the two blocks is performed based on the identical reference frame and the absolute difference between the horizontal or vertical components of the two motion vectors of the two blocks is less than 1, the bS of the two blocks is derived by con¬ sidering whether the two blocks are coded by illumination compensation (IC) according to an embodiment of the present invention,. Specifically, if both of the two blocks are coded by IC mode or neither of the two blocks are coded by IC mode, bS is set as such a value that filtering is unnecessary. On the other hand, if both of the two blocks are coded by IC mode and the blocks have different illumination change values, or only one of the blocks is coded by IC mode, the bS is derived using difference of illumination change values or the illumination change value.

摘要： Provided are a method and an apparatus for encoding a stereoscopic image including a left image and a right image and a method and an apparatus for decoding data encoded by the encoding method and apparatus. In the method of encoding a stereoscopic image, a first merged combined image is generated from odd or even vertical lines of the left image and even or odd vertical lines of the right image and an adaptive encoding process is performed by the use of an MxN merged combined block and an MxN separate combined block of the first merged combined image. Accordingly, it is possible to select image data encoded by a method with the higher compression efficiency and to transmit the selected image data to a decoding apparatus. In the method, block encoding mode information indicating the selected encoding method is transmitted to the decoding apparatus along with the encoded image data.

摘要： Provided is a method for performing motion compensated temporal filtering (MCTF)-based coding on a video sequence using the structure of adaptively divided group of pictures (GOP). The method includes the steps of, for each predefined 2 N frame-sized group of pictures (GOP) of the video sequence, (a) encoding the 2 N frame-sized GOP of the video sequence based on each of the different GOP sizes from the maximum size, 2 N , to the minimum size, 2 N (M is an integer between 1 and N) and obtaining different values between frames reconstructed after the encoding is performed and frames after the MCTF is performed, based on each of the different GOP sizes; (b) selecting at least one sub-GOP based on the difference values obtained by encoding the 2 N frame-sized GOP of the video sequence based on each of the different GOP sizes; and (c) generating a bitstream by encoding the 2 N -frame-sized GOP based on the at least one selected sub-GOP. Thereby, the MCTF-based video coding is performed by adapt ively dividing the GOP size based on performance and thereby obtains high coding efficiency.

摘要： Provided are a method and an apparatus for selectively encoding/decoding point sequences to maximize bit efficiency of a lightweight application scene representation (LASeR) binary stream. The point sequence encoding method includes the steps of: for each point sequence, (a) selecting one of exponential-Golomb (EG) encoding and fixed length (FL) encoding schemes; (b) when the FL encoding scheme is selected, encoding the point sequence using the FL encoding scheme to generate a binary stream; and (c) when the EG encoding scheme is selected, encoding the point sequence using the EG encoding scheme to generate a binary stream. The binary stream includes a flag indicating which encoding scheme is selected and a parameter k, with which the EG encoding can be most effectively performed, when the EG encoding scheme is selected. According to the encoding method, LASeR point sequences can be efficiently encoded and, during a decoding process, a large overhead is not incurred to a decoder (terminal).
