    • A signal communication method for a TDD communication system is provided, comprising steps of: at a transmitter, coding and modulating information bits, multiplying the resulting signal with a pre-coding matrix V and allocating them to OFDM sub-carriers for transmitting via antennas allowable for transmission, wherein the pre-coding matrix V is obtained based on an uplink sounding signal and CSI channel feedback information for the remaining antennas from a receiver; and at the receiver, processing the received signal, estimating a channel matrix H based on a pilot, performing pre-decoding and demodulating based on the estimated matrix H and outputting the resulting information bits. According to the present invention, the problem that the transmitter can not obtain CSI for all transmitting antennas within one frame due to the difference of antenna configurations between the uplink and the downlink in a MIMO system. Meanwhile, the system performance can be improved and the feedback overhead and the complexity of the receiver can be reduced.

    • A time-difference estimation method for location based services in a cellular network comprises: estimating, by a terminal, the received power of a serving base station BS and the received power of other adjacent non-serving BSs, dividing the serving sector of the serving BS into a plurality of areas according to the estimation values; calculating, by the terminal, a compared parameter T and sending the compared parameter T to a location server via the serving BS; judging, by the location server, whether the compared parameter T is greater than a threshold or not, and if yes, then estimating, by the terminal, the power levels of the adjacent sectors of the serving BS and reporting these parameters to the system; determining, by the system according to said parameters, which specific area of the serving BS the terminal is located nearby; calculating user location information by the system or the terminal. With the present invention, defects of T-DOA and E-OTD based approaches can be compensated to improve precision for positioning a user who is located nearby the serving BS.

    • A system for transmitting and receiving channel state information (CSI) is provided, in which a terminal receives a pilot signal transmitted from a transmitter; the terminal estimates CSI of part of downlink channels based on the received pilot signal; the terminal superposes the CSI of part of downlink channels onto a uplink sounding signal orthogonally, and transmits them together; the transmitter obtains the CSI of the rest part of downlink channels by estimating the uplink sounding signal; the transmitter performs orthogonal de-multiplexing on the received signal to obtain the CSI of the part of downlink channels; the transmitter, by using the CSI of the two parts of downlink channels, pre-codes downlink data and transmits it to the terminal. With the system of the present invention, it is possible to solve the problem that the transmitter can not obtain complete CSI due to the fact that uplink and downlink antenna configurations are not matched with each other. Accordingly, it is possible to improve system performance and reduce the complexity of the receiver. Meanwhile, system overhead can be suppressed.

    • A method and an apparatus for idle mode notification in a cellular communications system are provided. A user transmits, prior to entering an idle mode, a de-registration request message to a Base Station (BS) which then transmits a Dynamic Service Addition REQuest (DSA-REQ) message to the user and adds the user to a multicast group for the idle mode, and enters the idle mode. The BS transmits an idle mode notification to the user using a Multicast/Broadcast Service map (MBS-MAP), and the user receives the idle mode notification, wherein the user switches to a unicast carrier to perform network reentry if the idle mode notification is a network reentry notification. The idle mode notification is considered as a service of an MBS type. When a user enters the idle mode, the BS actively invites the user to join the multicast group for idle mode notification if the MBS operates on a dedicated carrier.
