摘要： A wireless communications device is configurable to communicate with either one of two networks over a wireless medium, each of the two networks having a different air interface protocol. Additionally, the wireless device includes stored provisioning information for a set of networks of a first type and can map this first provisioning information into a second format for use with networks of a second type. The device also includes a non-volatile memory for storing default provisioning information so that some information remains available regardless of what is erased from the memory. The default provisioning information is enough to establish a connection over one of the available networks and allow reconstruction of a provisioning list.

摘要： Shared secret data is used to authenticate and encrypt between a CDMA network and a GSM network such that a mobile station having a subscription in a GSM network can roam into a CDMA network and be authenticated to use the CDMA network and have messages encrypted without having a CDMA subscription. The goal of authenticating a GSM subscriber in a CDMA network using GSM authentication credentials is achieved by substituting a key Kc as SSD-A and messages are encrypted substituting Kc as SSD-B using a CAVE algorithm.

摘要： The disclosed embodiments provide for methods and systems for monitoring a paging channel. In one aspect, a method for monitoring a paging channel includes monitoring a paging channel for a page message at scheduled paging slots, determining that an error has occurred at a given paging slot, and monitoring the paging channel for a re-page message at at least one scheduled re-paging slot, where the re-paging slots occur after the given paging slot but before the next scheduled paging slot. In another aspect, a method for monitoring a paging channel includes monitoring a first one of a plurality of paging channels for a page message at scheduled paging slots, determining that an error has occurred at a given paging slot, and monitoring at least a second one of the plurality of paging channels for the page message.

摘要： A system and method are provided for controlling a cellular telephone account User Terminal (UT). The method includes: registering a UT with an account in a cellular telephone network; uploading a credit for cellular telephone network services to the UT from a second party; and, converting the credit to an account balance. When the UT accesses a cellular telephone network service (i.e., makes a call), then the account balance is debited. In one aspect, the method accesses a credit server funded by the second party. Then, the credit is uploaded in response to accessing the credit server. For example, the credit server may be a module embedded in the UT. Alternately, the credit server is accessed via the cellular telephone network. For example, an Internet Protocol (IP) network-connected credit server may be accessed via the cellular network.

The method includes: registering a UT in a cellular telephone network; accessing a management server; receiving UT-specific management instructions for cellular network services; and, requesting cellular network services for the UT in response to the UT-specific management instructions. 摘要： A method of authenticating a mobile station (18) from a first base station (12) in a first cellular communications system controlled by a first mobile switching control station (10) to a second base station (14) in a second, different cellular system controlled by a second mobile switching control station is described. The method comprises generating at the second cellular communication system an authentication code as the result of applying an algorithm to a private key assigned to the mobile station for the second cellular communications system and a random number generated by the second cellular communications system. An authentication code is also generated at the first cellular communication system as the result of applying an algorithm to the private key and the random number. The authentication code generated at the first cellular communication system is then transmitted to a mobile station in a data packet, and, from there, the authentication code is transmitted to the second cellular communication system. The authentication code generated at the first cellular communications system is then compared with the authentication code generated at the second cellular communications system.

The method registers a multi-network AT in a first communications network.
