    • It is disclosed a method for installing a drop cable (2) for an optical access network. The drop cable has a first end (2a), a second end (2b) and a minimum bending radius. The drop cable comprises at least one optical fiber (21) and one or more layers (22, 23, 24) surrounding the optical fiber(s). The method comprises the following steps: laying the drop cable so that its first end is brought to a first position at user's premises and its second end is brought to a second position close to a riser cable; collecting an extra-length of the drop cable at a third position intermediate between the first and second positions; removing at least one of the layers surrounding the optical fiber(s) from a portion (26) of the drop cable extra-length; and coiling the drop cable extra-length bared portion with a bending radius smaller than the minimum bending radius of the drop cable as a whole.
