    • A piston pump (1) for creamy food products has a cylinder (2) having a shell (4) extending about a longitudinal axis (Al) ; and a piston (3) movable back and forth inside the cylinder (2) and along the longitudinal axis (Al) to draw a creamy food product, in particular cream from which to make ice-cream, and compressed air into the cylinder (2), to compress the creamy food product and compressed air to form an aerated mixture, and to expel the aerated mixture from the cylinder (2); the cylinder (2) has a first and a second feed opening (8, 9) through which to draw the creamy food product and compressed air respectively, and a delivery opening (10) through which to expel the aerated mixture; and the first and second feed opening (8, 9) and the delivery opening (10) are located along the shell (4) of the cylinder (2), and are selectively closed by the piston (3) during travel of the piston (3).
