The system, method, and apparatus may include a planter configured for planting a research plot and comprising a seed package assembly handling device (104) configured to receive a seed package assembly (200) containing a research seed sample, and a controller (103) configured to communicate with the seed package assembly handling device (104). The controller (103) is configured to automatically control the seed package assembly handling device (104) to release the research seed sample. 摘要： The invention is directed to an apparatus, method and system for a seed planter. The seed planter has a planting, dispensing and metering assembly operatively attached to a mobile supporting structure. The metering assembly has separated seed pre-staging and/or staging positions for staging pre-specified counts of seed separated from other counts in the batch and maintaining separation of the pre-specified counts of seed from other counts in the batch for planting. 摘要： A system, method, and computer program product for separating a seed aliquot (C) from a bulk sample (A) and preparing the seed aliquot for downstream research purposes is provided. The system embodiments may comprise a counter device (20), which is configured to receive at least a portion of the bulk sample (A) and to separate the seed aliquot (C) from the portion of the bulk sample (A), and a packaging device (30), which is configured to receive the separated seed aliquot (C) and to dispense the aliquot into an aliquot container (1000a). Other embodiments may include a conveyor system (35) for advancing the bulk sample (A) and/or seed aliquot (C) along a conveyance path that may be determined from a research protocol received from an input source. Various embodiments of the present invention may maintain an identity of the seed aliquot (C) as it is advanced along the conveyance path and may selectively subject the seed aliquot (C) to a variety of processing steps in accordance with the research protocol with little or no manual control or supervision.

摘要： The present invention provides a system and method for generating a planting profile for seeds planted in a field using a seed planter (100) that includes a seed transfer device (102). In various embodiments, the planting profile may be generated via a processor (106) that communicates with a timing device (108) and a seed sensor (112). The timing device is configured to provide timestamps associated with the presence of one or more seeds on a seed carrying feature (118) of the seed transfer device as indicated by the seed sensor (112). Some embodiments further comprise a speed measuring device (110) that is configured to measure and provide to the processor a speed of the seed planter (100) as it travels through the field. Other embodiments further comprise a second seed sensor (126) that senses seeds (150) after exiting from the drop tube (150).

Embodiments of the present invention include, but are not limited to: first and second portions (110, 130) which cooperate to contain the aliquot, wherein a pair of flexure channels (145) are defined in opposing sides of at least one of the first or second portions, the flexure channels cooperating to define a flexure axis (142) extending through the pair of flexure channels. Thus, embodiments of the present invention may allow at least one of first and second portions of the package assembly (100) to flex about the flexure axis (142) in response to a force exerted on the package assembly such that the first and second portions (110, 130) separate in response to the force.

摘要： An apparatus and method for automated high-throughput processing seed requests or orders includes an autonomous single seed counter and packager which operates by pre-programmed criteria. Optional features can include a thresher, a spiral separator, and a label applicator. A conveyance path, controlled automatically, can move the seed to appropriate and desired stations during the processing while maintaining segregation from subsequent seed being processed. Validation of the seed request matching the sample requested occurs prior to processing and information about the seed to process or having been processed can be derived and stored for further use.

摘要： A method for managing seed includes non-destructively sampling individual seeds to assist in providing evaluation data for each of the individual seeds, storing the evaluation data and seed identifiers associated with each of the individual seeds in a data store, selecting a subset of seed for planting at least partially based on the evaluation data, and planting the subset of seed.
