摘要： Minimizing the temporal width of the gating window during calculation of the gating function in cardiac CT may not result in best image quality with a maximum of signal-to-noise ratio and minimal artifacts. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the widths of the gating windows in cardiac CT are selected on the basis of a motion model describing the motion of the heart. According to an aspect of the present invention, the widths of the gating windows are determined by considering the duration of stationary cardiac phases. Thus, artifacts, such as motion artifacts or noise, are minimized.

摘要： In coherent scatter computed tomography, the scatter angle from object points (31, 32, 33, 34, 35), which are located on a line (36) perpendicular to the central beam (45) in the plane of rotation, varies as a non-linear function of the fan-angle of the detector row (37). According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a single-line energy-resolved detector for CSCT data acquisition is used, which measures scattered photons originating from object points on a circular arc under the same scatter angle. This automatically leads to a Cartesian q- sampling on a parallel-rebinned detector. Advantageously, this may avoid q- interpolation prior to parallel-rebinned filtered back-projection reconstruction.

The imaging system comprises an irradiation unit (2) which moves relative to a field of interest along a first trajectory (501) and along a second trajectory (503). 摘要： Interpolation of the momentum transfer prior to the filtered backprojection reconstruction in computer tomography baggage inspection or medical applications may not result in best image quality or minimal computational cost. According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a non-linear energy binning of an energy-resolved single-row detector is provided, which automatically leads to a Cartesian q-sampling on a parallel rebinned detector. This may avoid the q interpolation prior to the filtered back projection reconstruction, resulting in improved spatial resolution, reduction of computational effort and improved image quality.

According to the present invention, a method is provided to obtain projection data corresponding to an uninterrupted source trajectory from such a gated data set.
