    • A liquid crystal display is provided which comprises front and rear panels, and electrodes, polarizers and a layer of liquid crystal disposed between the front and rear panels. The polarizer on the rear panel is preferably a reflecting type in at least one region of the spectrum and contains at least one element in the formof a multilayer structure. The multilayer structure contains at least two anisotropic layers separated by at least one intermediate layer which is optically transparent in the desired spectral region. The ratio of refraction indices and thickness of the layersin the multilayer structure is chosen such to provide an extremumfor the ratio of the transmitted and reflected polarized light inthe spectral region.

    • The invention pertains to devices for presenting information, in particular liquid crystal (LC) displays and may be used in indicatory technology of various purposes. Liquid crystal display, according to the invention, comprises a layer of liquid crystal (2), situated between two plates (3), on each of which there have been placed or formed electrodes (4) and at least one polarizer layer (5), while the electrodes on at least one of the plates are made transparent, and at least one layer of at least one polarizer formed on the inner side of the transparent electrodes on at least one of the plates in the display is the E-type polarizer and made out of at least partially crystalline film of molecularly ordered structure of an organic dye. Situated above the transparent electrodes, local areas of at least one layer of E-type polarizer, formed on the inner side of the transparent electrodes, are modified to enhance their conductivity.

    • The present invention relates to the field of color filters, in particular, to a non-absorbing polarization color filters and to high-brightness color liquid crystal display panel with improved image contrast employing non-absorbing polarization color filters and light recycling among neighboring subpixels. The disclosed invention represents a non-absorbing polarization color filter comprising the following elements: a rear broadband multilayer lossless polarizer, a front broadband multilayer lossless polarizer, and a color polarization rotator. The rear broadband multilayer lossless polarizer has a predefined-oriented transmission axis AB. Said front broadband multilayer lossless polarizer is located approximately in parallel with the rear broadband multilayer lossless polarizer, and has a transmission axis approximately parallel or approximately orthogonal with respect to transmission axis AB. The color polarization rotator is located between the front broadband multilayer lossless polarizer and the rear broadband multilayer lossless polarizer. Said color polarization rotator comprises a stack of thin birefringent films with c-axes orientations alternated in sign according to a rocking angle a with respect to orientation of the transmission axis AB. A number, a rocking angle a, thicknesses and optical anisotropies of thin birefringent films are selected so, that the non-absorbing polarization color filter transmits a predetermined color light having the polarization state approximately parallel to transmission axis AB, reflects said predetermined color light having the polarization state orthogonal to the transmission axis AB, and reflects an unpolarized light of other predetermined color.

    • The herein invention pertains to devices for presenting information in particular elements of liquid crystal displays, and is aimed at creating a multilayer plate, which may be used in the manufacture of liquid crystal displays, as well as at devising a design of displays with internal polarizers. The technical result of the disclosed invention is the increase of reliability and decrease of thickness of the display, as well as lowering of the manufactuing costs, an increase of useful yield and lowering the number of manufactuing operations in the process of display assembly. Technical result is achieved by the fact that the multilayer plate comprises optically transparent substrate (6), protective layer (3), conducting layer, and also at least on elayer of anisotropic membranous crystal (2). Moreover, membranous crystal (2) is formed out of material, which contains aromatic rings and has Braggpe ak at 3.4 ± 0.2 Augstrom (=0.34+0.02 nm) a long one of the optical axes. Besides that, the disclosed technical result is achieved by the fact that the display panel comprises optically transparent substrate (6), protective layer (3), system of electrodes (7), and also at least one layer of membranous crystal.
