摘要： An electrolysis cell producing metals needs to add an accurate amount of feed stock (like alumina) to the cell, and as an effect of the reaction taking place in the cell, one needs to extract the product (like aluminium) and remove any waste product (like HF and CO 2 ). In order to cool the cell properly and to ensure collection of all the effluents from the cell, which is not gas tight, a normal suction is about 100-150 times more ambient air than gas volume produced by the cell. The present invention relates to the principles of how one can extract a more CO 2 - concentrated flue gas from the cell than is standard procedure in the aluminium industry today, by means of distributed pot suction (DPS) devices. In one embodiment the DPS can be integrated with a feeder having a breaker bar for feeding raw material to the cell. Heat energy can be extracted from the hot flue gas.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method of improving the current efficiency (CE) in an electrolytic aluminium production cell with an electrolytic bath, at least one anode and at least one cathode, and passing current between said anode and said cathode through said bath and feeding an aluminium containing feedstock to the cell. The CE is improved in that the aluminium containing feedstock is prepared in a manner where it contains substantially no humidity or water before it is fed to the cell, where the electrolytic process is carried out at conditions with reduced amount of hydrogen present.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method for electrolytic production of aluminium metal from an electrolyte (3) comprising aluminium oxide, by performing electrolysis comprising at least one inert anode (1) and at least one cathode (2) thus forming part of an electrowimming cell. The anode evolves oxygen gas and the cathode has aluminium discharged onto it in the electrolysis process, where the said oxygen gas enforces an electrolyte flow pattern. The oxygen gas is directed to flow into anode grooves and drained away from the interpolar room, and thereby establishing an electrolyte flow pattern between the electrodes (1) and (2) and between over the anodes (1). The invention also concerns an anode assembly and an electrowinning cell.

The problem to be solved is to find an anode material that can replace carbon/ graphite, particularly in electrolytic processes with CaCl2-CaO based electrolytes, such as the FFC process and the OS process. As a solution to this problem, the application presents a number of possible candidate materials, based on at least one of NiO, CaTiO3, CaZrO3, CaSnO3 or Ca2Fe2O5.
