    • A self-contained fingerprint kit includes first, second, and third (or more) panels (19, 20, 21) each having a top face and a bottom face (11, 12) with panel joining adhesive along the exterior edges of at least some of the panel faces for holding them together so that the top face of the second panel engages the bottom face of the first panel, and the bottom face of the second panel engages the top face of the third panel. A first dry fingerprint chemical (23) is disposed in an area provided on one of the first panel bottom face or the second panel top face, and a fingerprint application area (24) (which may comprise a second dry fingerprint chemical which cooperates with the first chemical to provide a developed fingerprint) provided on the second bottom panel face or the third panel top face for receipt of fingerprints with fingerprint chemical transferred from a first dry fingerprint chemical. A photograph-receiving adhesive area (25, 27) is preferably provided on the second panel with a release liner covering the adhesive area, the adhesive area large enough to mount a photograph. The panels may be made by folding a substantially quadrate sheet of paper (e.g. 81/2x11 inch bond paper) and sealing the adhesive joining the panels together with pressure so as to not adversely affect the fingerprint chemical. The integral kit may be disposed in a box of cereal or otherwise packaged for consumer use.

    • A packaging label includes a first portion with permanent pressure sensitive adhesive on its bottom face and a second portion substantially perpendicular to the first portion and having permanent pressure sensitive adhesive on the bottom face remote from the first portion. The second portion typically includes nutritional information and bar coding since the label is typically used with clam shell plastic packages for fruits or other food items. The first portion of the label is adhesively secured to the lid of a clam shell container and after the container is filled with food items, the lid is closed, the second portion of the label is unfolded from a compact position which facilitates stacking and transportation, and the adhesive on the second portion is secured to the bottom of the container, holding the lid closed. The bar coding is preferably on the top face of the second portion opposite the adhesive so that it can be scanned merely by dragging the bottom of the container over a scanner (e.g., in a grocery store).

    • A reduced cost, scaled down raster image processor (RIP) provides fast real time imaging without the cost and complexity of prior designs. The scaled down RIP can be tailored to accommodate image generation in a particular printing range to efficiently run print bars at a reduced equipment cost. The scaled down RIP utilizes a personality module in conjunction with a scaled down controller to provide limited print information to a print engine. The personality module tailors the system for a particular print engine, such as a Moore3 Independent Cartridge Array (MICA) ink jet printer. The personality module is responsible for requesting and reading raster data to build up the staging RAM. A pair of EEPROMs may be used to control each bar read according to the position and distance from the other. Pixel data is then sent to the service station along with the print bar address. The personality module outputs the sequence of pixel data to the service station for imaging, interfaces the display and keyboard information, and transfers the various offsets to a control ASIC for rehandling the pixel data at the staging RAM.

    • A technique for easily creating and proofing customized printed material before printing on a production printing system. A user may connect with an internet web site provided by a commercial printing service and select from a plurality of available templates for the printed material. The user can then select additional stored information to be included in the customized printed material, or can input variable information through a keyboard or the like. A portable document format (PDF) builder generates a dynamic PDF file from the selected template and the selected or variable data from the user. The dynamic file can then be displayed at the front end to provide an accurate view of how the printed material would look. Additionally, a hard copy proofing version of the printed material may be printed at the front end. Once the layout of the printed material is confirmed, a production printing system is used to print multiple copies of the customized printed material.

    • A high capacity conveyor assembly is utilizable with pressure sealers or other business forms manufacturing or handling equipment to efficiently handle forms that may be job separated and provides high capacity outfeed. An infeed conveyor (11) has a first horizontal conveyance surface (15) and feeds forms in a first direction to a pair of nip wheels (13, 14), with an outfeed conveyor (12) downstream of the wheels for also feeding forms in the first direction and having a second horizontal conveyance surface (17). The nip wheels are powered and include a top nip wheel (13) and a bottom nip wheel (14) with a nip between them, the bottom nip wheel having a top peripheral surface closer to the outfeed conveyor than is the nip. A transition element (28) (such as a low friction shelf) has a form supporting surface lower than the bottom nip wheel top peripheral surface, and is between the nip wheels and outfeed conveyor. A sensor senses build up of forms on the transition element and through a controller controls operation of the outfeed conveyor (which preferably is a pair of rollers (50, 51) with a number of conveyor tapes or belts (52) wrapped around them) to at spaced time intervals carry forms away.
