    • A cable connector is provided including an insulative housing having an insertion opening through which a flat flexible cable may be inserted. An actuator is movably mounted on the housing and configured to be moved from a first position at which the flat flexible cable may be inserted and a second position at which the contact pads of the flat flexible cable are operatively engaged by terminals of the connector. A plurality of conductive terminals are mounted in the housing. Each terminal is configured to be electrically connected to a contact pad of the flat flexible cable. A first group of the terminals has an actuator holding arm portion that engages the actuator to facilitate movement of the actuator between the first and second positions. Each of a second group of the terminals has a plurality of distinct, resilient, cantilevered, contact arm portions configured to be electrically connected to one of the contact pads of the flat flexible cable.

    • A cable connector comprising having a housing with an opening for receiving an end of a flat cable therein. The housing also has a plurality of terminal recesses, and a plurality of conductive terminals disposed in the recesses for connecting to conductive leads of the flat cable. The terminals are provided with solder connecting portions for adhering to conductive pads by soldering, and contact portions for contacting the flat cable conductive leads. The terminals recesses are at least partly defined by terminal holding walls confronting external surfaces of the terminals received therein, by broad width portions, and a cut-away portions formed between parts in the terminals holding walls, the parts facing the terminal solder connecting portions and contact portions, respectively.

    • A connector shield case having a tubular shape and is attached to a housing having a plurality of terminals to thereby surround the terminals. The connector shield case is formed by bending a metal blank having a predetermined shape. The connector shield case comprises a ceiling plate portion, side wall portions extending downward from corresponding opposite side ends of the ceiling plate portion, mounting projecting-leg portions extending downward from each of the side wall portions, a bottom plate support portion connecting, at opposite ends, with the side wall portions and a bottom plate portion in parallel with the ceiling plate portion and connecting with the bottom plate support portion via a bend portion.     • An improved plug connector including a housing and a housing cover engaged to each other in a length direction i.e. axial direction of the plug. Since the engaging portion is not provided in the width direction of the plug, the dimension in the width direction of the plug connector can be reduced. The improved plug connector may include a plurality of grooves for fitting terminals formed in the axial direction of the housing, the terminals being covered by portion of the housing cover such that the plurality of grooves are closed at each end. As such, the resin used to overmold the housing/housing cover is prevented from flowing to the front end of the plug connector by way of the grooves. The improved plug connector may also include a shield case having a clamp portion that is made eccentric from the axis core of the shield case. Since the clamp portion is not provided in the axial direction of the shield case, the clamp portion does not prevent and/or hinder the housing from being easily inserted into the shield case. As such, the integration of the housing with the shield case is simplified.
