摘要： A damper assembly for an air passage. A damper assembly includes a disk element (20) associated with a circular orifice (18) of an air passage, and an actuator (52) having an associated drive element (58). The disk (20) is coupled to the drive element, and to a fixed reference axis (86) by a linkage (72) so that as the actuator drive element (58) is displaced from a first limit position to a second limit position, the disk (20) moves between a sealing position and an open position. In the sealing position, the disk perimeter is flush against the perimeter of the orifice establishing an air-tight seal between the disk (20) and the perimeter of the orifice (18). In an open position, the disk (20) is displaced from the orifice perimeter and forms an angle with a plane defined by the orifice perimeter. An array of damper assemblies (figure 9) may be configured with a controller for selectively controlling the position of each actuator between the respective limit positions.

摘要： A branch take-off and silencer apparatus for an air distribution system. The apparatus couples an input duct (10) to one or more branch ducts (14) and to an output duct (12). Inner and outer sections (22, 20) define a shell region (24). The shell region (24) is closed at its downstream end (26) and is adapted at its upstream end to receive air from the input duct (10). Porous acoustical material (32, 34, 35) is positioned within the shell region (24) to establish one or more channels in that region which extend from the upstream end to points (X) adjacent to one or more of the branch ducts (14). At these points (X), the channels are coupled to one or more of the branch ducts (14). The downstream end of the inner section (22) is coupled to the output duct (12).

摘要： Air distribution systems and more particularly an apparatus for extracting air from a main supply duct to a branch duct. In conventional air distribution systems in a building, the air is branced from the main air supply duct to the various branch ducts through openings in the wall of the main duct. In such configurations, the noise level at the entrance to the branch duct is substantially the same as the noise level in the main duct. To reduce the noise level, a silencer is typically used of quite large dimensional characteristics at the exist or inlet of the fan in the main supply duct which has the obvious disadvantage of being costly, bulky, and requiring a large amount of space. To obviate such noted problems, a composite branch take-off silencer device is set forth that includes a static pressure regain (SPR) section (100) and a channel section (101) adapted for coupling air flow from an input duct (102A) to an output duct (102B) and at least one branch duct (106, 108). The outer wall of the SPR section and the inner and outer path-defining walls of the channel section define a perimeter channel, with the outer walls having a composite cross section characterized by a continous curve, and the inner wall having a cross section characterized by a continuous curve, where both continuous curves have radial direction components.

An input flow concentrator and integral silencer (50) is disposed within and coupled to the mixing plenum (20). The flow concentrator and integral silencer (50) is adapted to establish a substantially axially symmetrical flow path for air from the plenum (20) to an output (60). A fan is coupled to the output port (60) to drive the air from the output port (60) to the main duct (12) for distribution throughout the building.
