摘要： The invention concerns an optical media set, method for manufacturing the same, a package blank and a novel use of paper. Such an optical media set comprises a casing and an optical disc housed therein, the casing comprising a base material layer and the optical disc comprising a substrate having an optically readable or writable layer superimposed thereon. According to the invention, the base material layer of the casing and the substrate of the optical disc are made of fibrous materials. Further, the base material layer of the casing and the substrate of the optical disc can be made of a single sheet. The invention provides an environmentally friendly an inexpensive way of casing fiber-based optical discs.

According to the invention, the substrate (48) comprises a coated paper or cardboard sheet (42, 44) having a bending stiffness (ISO 2493) of 3,0 mNm or more in the machine direction and 2,0 mNm or more in the cross direction. The resulting discs may serve as an environmentally friendly and inexpensive media for limited or unlimited time storage of data.

摘要： A paper- or cardboard-based security product and a method of manufacturing it. The product comprises a paper or a cardboard which is equipped with an identifiable security symbol. According to the present invention, the security symbol comprises a layer in the product, one which consists of a synthetic, electrically conductive polymer, the conductivity of which has been changed locally to form an electrically conductive or, alternatively, electrically non-conductive figure. Furthermore, a figure indicating the security symbol has been fitted on the surface of the paper or the cardboard product. A security product according to the present invention can be produced simply by first applying a conductive polymer, for instance in a non-conductive form, onto a paper, after which an acidic figure is printed in such as way that the area below the figure becomes conductive. The figure can be detected and in this way it acts as a guarantee of authenticity for the product.

摘要： The invention relates to cardboard used in authenticity products, comprising a fibre matrix having two surfaces, whereby the second surface of the fibre layer has a layer of surface sizing containing a marking agent in a particle form, its particle size being smaller than 50 µm. By incorporating the marking agent into the surface sizing, the particles of the marking agent can be attached to the board, at the same time decreasing their total consumption by 80 to 90 % compared with a case where they would be added to pulp. By using particles of a size less than 50 µm, a top free from seaks and roughness can be formed, which streaks might otherwise weaken the quality of the product.

The marking consists of electrically conductive and non-conductive areas formed on paper or cardboard by using a conductive polymer. The detection of the marking is based on a capacitive coupling between the marking (13, 23, 35) and at least one first (12, 22, 34) electrode coupling an excitation signal to the marking and at least one receiving second electrode (16, 26, 43). The information relating to this coupling is derived from the signal, which is obtained by means of the said electrodes, in such a way that the electrodes (12, 22, 34, 16, 26, 43) and the marking move relative to each other. With the aid of the invention, information can be advantageously stored in products.

摘要： The invention relates to barrier products and a method for the manufacture thereof. The product comprises a fibrous substrate, a coating layer on at least one surface of the fibrous substrate, and a barrier applied on the coating layer, comprising a thin film with a thickness of less than about 1 micrometer and capable of providing barrier properties to the fibrous product. According to the invention, the coating layer comprises biopolymer, which have been found to be suitable for atomic layer deposition of thin barrier films comprising e.g. metal oxide. Improved oxygen, water vapour and aroma barrier properties can be achieved by the invention for papers and paperboards for packaging purposes.
