摘要： A drive assembly for a motorized roller tube system includes a motor (42) and a gear assembly (44) having multiple gear stages. The motor of the drive assembly is operated inefficiently at a motor- speed that is less than 50 percent of a peak efficiency motor speed producing sound pressure levels between approximately 40 dBA and 44dBA in an ambient of about 38 dBA. Preferably, the efficiency is less than one-half of peak efficiency. The gear assembly includes spur gears and preferably has a gear ratio of 20:1. Preferably, the motor is a DC motor operated at approximately 850 rpm and having an associated torque capability that is at least 4 times the torque capability at the peak efficiency motor speed. The motor may be an AC motor having four or less poles preferably operated at approximately 850 rpm.

The gear train includes a sun gear (100), planet gears (104) supported by a carrier (78) and engaging the sun gear, and a ring gear (122) engaging the planet gears (104). According to one embodiment, the first claim carrier (78) does not rotate. The ratio between the diameters of the input sprocket (66) and the roller tube (14) is selected to offset mechanical advantage of the gear train to provide an effective gear train ratio of approximately 2:1. A drive chain guide system includes spaced guide wheels (90a, 90b, 90c) controlling where a drive chain (58) is suspended from the manual shade (10). A roller shade mounting system includes a bracket (18) receiving either an input assembly of the manual roller shade (10) or a motor of a motorized roller shade (192) to facilitate conversion.

摘要： A motorized window treatment provides a low-cost solution for controlling the amount of daylight entering a space through a window. The window treatment includes a covering material, a drive shaft, at least one lift cord rotatably received around the drive shaft and connected to the covering material, and a motor coupled to the drive shaft for raising and lowering the covering material. The window treatment also includes a spring assist unit for assisting the motor by providing a torque that equals the torque provided by the weight on the cords that lift the covering material at a position midway between fully-open and fully-closed positions, which helps to minimize motor usage and conserve battery life if a battery is used to power the motorized window treatment. The window treatment may comprise a photosensor for measuring the amount of daylight outside the window and temperature sensors for measuring the temperatures inside and outside of the window. The position of the covering material may be automatically controlled in response to the photosensor and the temperature sensors to save energy, or may also be controlled in response to an infrared or radio-frequency remote control.

The pushbutton is biased by a return spring (52) between the pushbutton and a retainer. A pin is received within the return springs coils and engages a pivot member (78) through an elongated opening in the retainer that allows lateral pin movement. A switch plate (88) moves between alternate positions by contact with the pivot member and is maintained in one of the positions by a contact spring between the pivot member and plate. A spring damper in the contact spring coils limits resonating vibration. The switch assembly provides a multiple segment force input profile having first and second segments leading to the switching force with slopes according to a preferred ratio. Third and fourth segments of the input profile following the switching force define a V-shape.
