The solar cell includes a semiconductor substrate doped with first impurities, an emitter layer on a first surface of the semiconductor substrate, the emitter layer including a first portion doped with second impurities, whose conductive type is different from the first impurities, at a first doping concentration and a second portion doped with the second impurities at a second doping concentration greater than the first doping concentration, a first electrode that passes through the semiconductor substrate to extend from the first surface of the semiconductor substrate to a second surface of the semiconductor substrate and contacts the second portion of the emitter layer, and a second electrode that is positioned on the second surface of the semiconductor substrate and is electrically separated from the first electrode.
