    • A pump dispenser (20) has a pump arrangement for mounting to a reservoir (not shown) for holding a liquid to be dispensed. The pump arrangement includes a liquid pump chamber (43) for pumping liquid from the reservoir, an air pump chamber (50) for pumping air and a common actuator (21) to simultaneously actuate the liquid pump and the air pump. An outlet fluid passageway arrangement (31, 33, 34, 35, and 52) fluidly connects the liquid pump chamber and the air pump chamber with an outlet (36). The dispenser has an outlet valve arrangement (26, 26, 53) for controlling release of liquid from the liquid pump chamber and air from the air pump chamber during a dispensing cycle. The dispenser is configured such that the ratio of air to liquid dispensed varies over the course of each dispensing cycle. Preferably, the ratio of air to liquid is lower during a main dispensing phase, when the pressure of the liquid is at its highest, than during at least one of an initial phase and an end phase during which the pressure of the liquid is lower than during the main phase.

    • A precompression valve has a body(314) defining a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet and a fluid passage (373) from the inlet to the outlet. A resiliently deformable valve member (372) is located in the passage. The valve member has a resiliently deformable body (372a) smaller than the bore and a resiliently deformable sealing skirt (388) mounted to part of the body to engage with a sealing surface of the passage to prevent fluid flowing through the passage when the body portion and sealing skirt are both in initial resiliently biased configurations. The valve member body (372a) deforms when subjected to a force causing the sealing skirt (388) deform or move to open a flow path through the valve. During at least part of the deformation of the body, the sealing skirt (388) is deformed and held in the sealing position by the pressure of the fluid acting upon it. The valve is arranged so that when a minimum fluid pressure level is reached, the sealing skirt (388) is moved sufficiently to open a fluid flow path through the valve. As the pressure differential across the sealing skirt equalises, it is then able to at least partially reform to its original shape increasing the area of the fluid flow path.

    • A pressurised dispenser valve (110) has a valve housing (111) with at least one fluid inlet (127, 128) though which a fluid present in an associated dispenser may pass to enter the valve housing. The at least one fluid inlet is formed at least partly by, or in a resiliency deformable portion (124, 125) of the valve housing. The deformable portion (124, 125) is arranged such that, in use when the valve is opened, it deforms from an initial resiliency biased configuration in which the fluid inlet (127, 128) has an initial cross sectional area to a deformed configuration in which the fluid inlet has an altered cross sectional area in response to a pressure differential between the interior of the housing and the exterior of the housing. The change in cross sectional area of the inlet can be made to vary independence on the pressure in the canister and can be used to control the rate of flow of the fluid through the inlet as the pressure in the canister falls during use.

The dispenser nozzles of the invention comprises a body formed of one or two component parts which defines an internal chamber (700) having an inlet (503) through which fluid may be drawn into said chamber (700) and an outlet (403) through which fluid present in the chamber may be expelled from the nozzle. The inlet comprises an inlet valve and the outlet comprises an outlet valve.
