    • A method and system for regulating current flow in a wet shave razor includes one or more conductive materials, such as metals, in electric circuit connection, wherein each conductive material has unique resistance properties and is used to regulate the amount of current (i.e. heat) flowing to at least one electrically powered component on the blade cartridge, and particularly one or more electrically powered devices/elements on the blade cartridge such as, but not limited to, one or more blades, one or more heating elements, a vibration device, illuminating device (e.g. LED or bulb), gauges, or indicators. The length and thickness of the conductive materials used in the electric circuit further affects the total circuit resistance and, accordingly, the amount of current flowing to the blade cartridge for heating the blades. In other embodiments, the dissimilar material conductors may be used to regulate current flow to alternative electrically conductive components.

    • A battery charge indicator is permanently incorporated into a battery to indicate the state of charge. In one embodiment, the indicator includes a compressible chamber which is filled with a viscous gel and which is exposed to the expandable cathode of the battery. As the battery discharges, the cathode expands thus causing the gel within the chamber to be extruded out through an outlet (13a) into a viewing channel (12b) in an overlying disk (12). The amount of gel flowing into the viewing channel is proportional to the amount of expansion of the cathode and, thus, indicates the amount of discharge and, conversely, the remaining life of the battery. In a second embodiment, a piston assembly is caused to move with a deformable end wall of the battery and indicia on the side wall of the piston assembly is viewed through a lens as a measure of the remaining amount of expect expansion of the cathode.

    • A battery charge indicator is disclosed which is permanently incorporated into a battery to indicate the state of charge. The indicator includes a compressible chamber such as a blister (91) which is adapted to be installed in a battery (90) as an assembly. The blister chamber is filled with a viscous gel and is exposed to the expandable cathode of the battery. As the battery discharges, the cathode expands thus causing the gel within the chamber to be extruded out through an outlet into a viewing channel in an overlaying disk (95). The amount of expansion of the cathode thus indicates the amount of discharge and, conversely, the remaining life of the battery. A battery charge indicator is also disclosed in which the expansion of the cathode is adapted to apply localized pressure to a disk. The localized pressure applied to the disk causes stretching of the material of the disk, which causes a visual indication of the state of charge of the battery.

    • A display element (10) that can be used in either an analog or a digital liquid crystal display device includes an insulating substrate (12), a surface (13), a display region (18) and at least one elongated connection region (14, 16). Discrete display electrodes (231-23n) are disposed in the display region (18). An equal number of connector strips (240-24n) are disposed in both the analog (27) and digital (26) connection sections in the one connection region (14), each of the connector strips (240-24n) being uniquely connected to one of the display electrodes (231-23n). The connector strips (240-24n) are formed with edges that extend only transversely to the longitudinal dimension of the connection region (14) in the digital connection section (26), and selected pairs of adjacent connector strips (242-243) are formed with portions (302-303) that are aligned in the transverse direction of the connection region (14) in the analog connection section (27). Laminated elastomeric connectors (33, 34) connect individual display electrodes (231-23n) to separate outside circuits via respective connector strips (240-24n) in the digital connection section (26) to create a digital type display or, alternatively connect selected adjacent pairs of connector strips (242-243) together to form a continuous resistive electrode of predetermined pattern for creating an analog type display.
