摘要： Provided are a small-sized, low-priced and portable image projection system and method, the image projection system including: a light source for providing illumination light; an illumination optics for receiving the illumination light and simultaneously projecting three primary colors of red, green and blue included in the received illumination light to different zones; a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) divided into three zones illuminated by the red, green and blue lights from the illumination optics, wherein each of the three zones has at least two rows of modulation devices, and each of the modulation devices modulates the light projected from the illumination optics and contributes to one pixel of a screen at a time; a frame scanner for scanning the modulated light from the SLM onto the screen to thereby generate a two- dimensional (2D) image corresponding to one frame; and a projection optics for projecting and focusing the modulated light transferred from the frame scanner onto the screen.
