    • A method is used for generating a system protocol for control and/or monitoring equipment for one or more machines and/or processes. The equipment comprises a number of modules which can communicate with each other via a serial digital connection in accordance with said system protocol. A first memory location is fed with first data concerning a base protocol and is also supplied with second data concerning one or more additional protocols which indicate possible basic functions for the mutual relationship of the modules in the intercommunication. A second memory location receives third data concerning a base protocol and can also be supplied with fourth data concerning one or more additional protocols which indicate desired basic functions for the mutual relationship of the modules in the intercommunication. The system protocol is based on first, second, third and fourth data in said first and second memory locations.

    • In an arrangement for synchronizing data and other information in a computerized system which comprises a common serial data communication channel (212), two or several collaborating units (201) are arranged connectable to the channel, wherein a respective unit comprises a clock (207). A main clock is included in the system and the clock in one of the units can be used as main clock. The units with associated communication element and communication channel are arranged in such a manner that the time of the main clock can be transferred to the clocks of the other units. The clocks are arranged so that they can operate with a common time base. The units/communication elements comprise hard- and software or hardware which brings about the setting of a respective clock with predetermined accuracy in dependence on the main clock time.

    • In a system there is a first member which is controllable as a function of one or more parameters of a second member. A transmission system is used between the members. The transmission system comprises transmitter and receiver members connected via a bus connection. On the last-mentioned connection there are transmitted numbered messages which are in each case assigned a parameter quantity of the second member. Each message can comprise data on further parameters of the second member. The receiver member constitutes or is connected to a control module for the first member. The control module is assigned or comprises time information in respect of the time when the first member will have affected its function which can be repeated cyclically. Taking as a starting point the received parameter value and time information, the control module generates an activation signal for the first member. The activation signal takes into account a function difference existing in the first member, which can be caused by manufacturing tolerances, temperature or other environmental influences, functional circumstance in the system, etc.
