    • The apparatus (40) arranged for enabling an object mapping in a multi­dimensional dataset has an input (42) for receiving the multi-dimensional dataset in any suitable form. The core of the apparatus is formed by a processor (44), such as a conventional microprocessor or signal processor, a background storage (48) (typically based on a hard disk) and working memory (46) (typically based on RAM). The background storage (48) can be used for storing the dataset (or parts of it) when not being processed, and for storing operations of the graphic relational application macro and models (when not being executed by the processor). The main memory (46) typically holds the (parts of) the dataset being processed and the instructions of the graphic relational application macro and the models used for processing those parts of the dataset. The apparatus (40) according to the invention comprises computation means (45) arranged to define a set of geometric relations between a set of geometric templates using a geometrical relational application framework macro and means (47) for associating the multi-dimensional graphic objects with the geometric templates. Preferably, means (45) and (47) are operable by a computer program (43), preferably stored in memory (48). An output (49) is used for outputting the result of the mapping. Preferably, the output comprises a result of the associating of the multi-dimensional graphic objects with the geometric templates inter-related by the graphic relational application macro. The invention further relates to a method, a computer program, an image analysis system and an imaging system for an object mapping in a multi-dimensional dataset.

    • A method is presented to control the value of an attribute of a graphical object in an image displayed on a visual display screen, comprising use of a position indicator represented on the visual display screen and comprising use of a user interaction tool to generate user events and control the position of the position indicator represented on the visual display screen. The method makes the control of the attributes of graphical objects more efficient by mapping the value of the attribute to time in that the value of the attribute is controlled by the length of time between the pair of user events.     • The invention relates to a system (100) for rendering a combined image based on a volumetric image data set, the system comprising: a rendering unit (110) for rendering a plurality of grayscale images based on the volumetric image data set; a color unit (130) for determining a first color for a first image of the plurality of grayscale images and a second color for a second image of the plurality of grayscale images, thereby defining a first color image and a second color image, respectively; and a combination unit (140) for combining the first color image and the second color image on a per-pixel basis into the combined image. Optionally, the color unit (130) may be further arranged to determine a further color for a further image of the plurality of grayscale images, and the combination unit (140) may be further arranged to combine the further image with the first image and the second image, using the first color, the second color and the further color. The combined image provides the user with information which is comprised in the first image and the second image and which is useful for inspecting the volumetric image data set. The system can be implemented using a general-purpose microprocessor and is sufficiently fast for interactive applications such as navigating through a volumetric image data set.

    • In a medical imaging system the flexibility and power of measurement tools is improved by making the measurements objects themselves, whereby flexible interaction is provided. The measurement objects (52) are aware of their position relative to other graphical objects (50, 51) in the image. A user of a medical imaging system is thus enabled to easily perform desired measurements and to display the results thereof in a reliable and flexible manner. A method, an apparatus and a computer-readable medium are provided for processing cursored user interaction with a spatially displayed medical image for producing graphics related measurement data on the medical image.
