In one embodiment, the tank has a closeable fluid fill port and a closeable tank vent. An air supply line is fluidly coupled to tank. A tank out line is configured to fluidly the tank to 5 an upstream end of an EGR cooler. A closeable EGR cooler out line is configured to fluidly couple with a downstream end of an EGR cooler. In another embodiment, a fluid circulating pump has an input fluidly coupled to the tank and an output that can be fluidly coupled to an upstream end of an EGR cooler. An EGR cooler out line is configured to fluidly couple a downstream end of an EGR cooler with 10 the tank, for recirculating cleaning fluid to the tank.

摘要： A device and method for enhancing the flow of coolant through an EGR cooler, are described. The device includes a housing or tank having an interior space with a fluid inlet for receiving coolant and a fluid outlet for releasing coolant from the interior space. A series of angled baffles in a parallel arrangement are positioned within the interior of the housing from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet. The baffles extend into a flow path of the coolant redirecting a portion of the flow path above and below the baffles as the coolant passes through the housing. A plurality of tubes or conduit are positioned adjacent the baffles, defining an exhaust gas flow pathway through the housing.

摘要： A system and method for heating main unit containing host salt having ammonia that is used as reductant in an engine exhaust gas after-treatment system. Engine coolant is delivered from internal combustion engine to auxiliary heating device. When necessary, the auxiliary heating device heats the engine coolant to temperatures that will aid in releasing ammonia from the host salt. The auxiliary heating device may employ an electric heating element, a combustion element, or be an exhaust gas heat exchanger, among other heating methods. The heated engine coolant is delivered to a coolant heating manifold, where heat from the heated coolant is transferred to the main unit. The transferred heat may aid in elevating the temperature in/of the main unit to facilitate the release of stored ammonia from the host salt as a gaseous reductant. The gaseous ammonia may then flow from the main unit.
