摘要： Metrics for estimating RF interference may be derived from measurements of idle channel noise, channel utilization, medium access delay, STA throughput, BSS throughput, and frame error rate. Further, metrics may be derived from the prior list of directly measured items in combination, as ratios and by rate of change analysis. RF interference is measured indirectly by measuring total idle channel power or by measuring changes in communication channel efficiency and frame errors.

摘要： Several methods are provided for communicating emergency call capability information between a station and an access point (AP) in a wireless local area network. The methods include advertising by the AP of its emergency call capabilities and announcing by the station of its emergency call capabilities. The AP can advertise its emergency call capabilities in a beacon frame, a probe response frame, a reassociation response frame, or a reauthentication response frame. The station can announce its emergency call capabilities in an association request frame, a reassociation request frame, an authentication request frame, or a reauthentication request frame.

摘要： A method and system for conserving power of battery-powered mesh points (MPs) in a mesh network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a centralized controller is provided in the mesh network. Each of the MPs signal information associated with conserving MP battery power and provide indications of battery power levels associated with the respective MPs to the centralized controller. The centralized controller optimizes the configuration of the mesh network based on the signaling information for conserving MP battery power and the battery power level indications. In an alternate embodiment, each of the MPs individually monitor traffic flowing through the respective MP and a level of battery power associated with the respective MP. Each of the MPs determine whether to activate a power saving function associated with the respective MP and signal information associated with conserving MP battery power to neighboring MPs in the mesh network.

Once start-up of a WTRU is initiated, the WTRU scans a network advice channel in a particular band, (e.g., 5.180 GHz - 5.320 GHz). If a network advice frame is detected, the WTRU tunes to a channel indicated by the network advice frame and associates with a basic service set (BSS) operating on the channel indicated by the network advice frame. 摘要： A method and wireless communication system for transferring management information. The system includes at least one access point (AP) including a first management entity and a second management entity, and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) including a third management entity and a fourth management entity. The AP transmits a management information base (MIB) information request action frame including a category field and an action details field to the WTRU. In response to receiving the information request action frame, the WTRU determines whether or not to provide management information to the AP. When the WTRU provides management information to the AP, the WTRU compiles management information stored in a MIB located in the WTRU and transmits a MIB information report action frame to the AP. The MIB lists a plurality of tables containing information associated with radio resource management (RRM) and at least one table containing physical layer measurements.
