摘要： Embodiments provide a frame extension to generate short frames with short medium access control (MAC) headers to facilitate transmissions for wireless communications devices. Many embodiments comprise MAC sublayer logic to build short frames. In some embodiments, the MAC sublayer may determine a short MAC header comprising a type field indicative of an extension frame; a subtype indicative of a short management, data, or control frame; and a frame extension indicative of a particular type of short management, data, or control frame. Some embodiments may store the short frames or short frame formats in memory, in logic, or in another manner that facilitates transmission of the short frames. Some embodiments may receive and detect communications with the short frames. Further embodiments may generate and transmit a communication with the short frames.

摘要： When using a multi-receiver aggregation protocol in a wireless communications network, a sub-header may be used to identify groups of data units that share common parameters, such as destination addresses, acknowledgement modes, modulation/coding rates, lengths, etc. The layout of this sub-header may permit each receiving device to identify the portion of the aggregated payload that is addressed to that receiving device, where that portion is located, how long that portion is, and how to demodulate it. In addition, by controlling the selection and timing of various acknowledgement modes used by the mobile stations, a base station may improve overall network efficiency and throughput.

摘要： A system and methods are provided for specifying how multiple transactions may be initiated and/or terminated for available spectrum in a cloud spectrum services architecture. Transactions may be specified according to common time-frequency units or TFU's. Primary spectrum holders (PSH's) advertise availability of their underused spectrum, with specified parameters and conditions on procuring access to the spectrum to a regional spectrum marketplace. Requests for spectrum availability are made according to a specified number of TFU's as requested by an alternate spectrum holder (ASH) or a multi-mode device (MMD). Any of a participating PSH, an ASH, an MMD or a cloud-based entity may initiate communications with other entities in an effort to complete or facilitate a transaction by which a number of available TFU's are provided to an ASH or MMD for use.

For instance, a measurement request may be transmitted from a first device to a second device. This measurement request directs the second device to take one or more measurements of a wireless channel. Various characteristics for the one or more measurements may be included in the measurement request. For example, the measurement request may indicate at least one directional parameter and at least one timing parameter for the one or more measurements. In response to the request, the first device receives a measure report that includes measured values for each of the one or more measurements.
