摘要： An axle spindle nut assembly secures a wheel end assembly (52) on an axle spindle. (50) The wheel end assembly includes outboard (56) and inboard (54) bearings that are immovably mounted on the axle spindle, and a wheel hub which is rotatably mounting on the bearings. The spindle nut assembly (250) includes a nut (252) that threads onto an outboard end of the axle spindle, and is tightened against the outboard bearing to a predetermined torque level. The nut includes an outboard surface (260) that is formed with a plurality of features (272). A washer (274) is formed with a tab (282) that engages a keyway (196) of the axle spindle outboardly of the nut, and with a plurality of mating features (286) that mechanically engage the features formed in the outboard surface of the nut when the washer is secured to the nut, to reduce rotation of the nut after it has been tightened to a predetermined torque level.

摘要： A hubcap for a wheel end assembly of a heavy-duty vehicle seals an outboard end of the wheel end assembly. The wheel end assembly includes a wheel hub formed with a cavity that contains lubricant, and the hubcap positively engages and mounts on the outboard end of the wheel hub to prevent the escape of lubricant and the ingress of contaminants. The integrally-formed hubcap includes a generally cylindrical sidewall and an outboard wall that extends generally perpendicular to the sidewall. A lip extends inboardly from and a shoulder extends radially outwardly from an inboard end of the sidewall, and the lip and shoulder cooperate to positively mechanically engage the outboard end of the wheel hub. An O-ring is disposed between the lip and the wheel hub to provide a seal. The hubcap also is adapted to accommodate components of a tire inflation system and other auxiliary components.

摘要： A cam shaft support/enclosure assembly for brake systems of heavy-duty vehicles is mounted on a beam of an axle/suspension system and includes a cam tube (54') . A bracket for mounting the cam tube on the beam includes a pair of plates (82,84) that are mounted on the beam. Each one of the plates is formed with an opening for receiving the cam tube (54') and includes at least three tabs (90) , and preferably four tabs, that extend outwardly from each respective plate adjacent the opening and contact the outer surface of the cam tube (54') . Each tab includes a generally arched and optionally textured face for mating with an outer surface of the cam tube, which may also be optionally textured, so that when the plates are mounted the tabs engage the cam tube in a press-type fit, minimizing movement of the cam tube.

摘要： A method of determining one or more bulk theological properties of a particle laden fluid comprising providing a system comprising a vessel, a pump coupled to the vessel, and a flow-through apparatus coupled to the pump and the vessel, wherein the flow-through apparatus comprises a flow chamber, a bob rotatably disposed within the chamber, wherein the bob comprises an outer geometry adapted for continuous laminar flow in an axial direction, and a gap between the chamber and the bob, pumping the particle laden fluid into the flow-through apparatus, shearing the particle laden fluid within the gap of the flow-through apparatus, and collecting data from the bob and observing the particle laden fluid to determine one or more bulk rheological properties of the particle laden fluid.
