摘要： A bipolar electrosurgical colpotomy device includes a colpotomy cup (10, 10C) and a tissue containment bag (20, 220). The colpotomy cup (10, 10C) includes a first electrode (31, 76B, 76C) located adjacent to a rim (30, 55C) of the cup, the rim being configured to contact an internal surface of a patient's cervico-vaginal junction. The tissue containment bag (20, 220) includes an opening (50) and a second electrode (51, 251) located adjacent to the opening. The tissue containment bag is configured to surround the patient's uterus and the opening is configured to fit over an external surface of the patient's cervico-vaginal junction. Applying a voltage potential between the first and second electrodes vaporizes tissue at the patient's cervico-vaginal junction by electrosurgical energy passing through the tissue disposed between the first and second electrodes. The tissue containment bag then can be used to remove the uterus from the patient, possibly after masticating the uterus within the bag.

摘要： An apparatus includes a hollow sleeve member with an open interior section and a sleeve proximal and a sleeve distal end. Two or more probes are disposed within the open interior section and extending beyond the sleeve distal end when in a deployed position. Distal ends of the probes have a lateral space between each other. One or more tissue manipulators are disposed at the distal end of each of the at least two probes. The hollow sleeve member and the two or more probes move axially relative to each other to reduce the lateral space. A method of closing a vaginal cuff of a vaginal canal is also provided.

摘要： An electrosurgical device (100) that can be used to remove pedunculated tissue structures such as polyps and certain uterine fibroids includes bipolar surface electrodes (122, 124) and a bipolar snare (110). The device includes a probe (130) having a proximal end (134) and a distal end (132), bipolar surface electrodes (122, 124) adjacent to the distal end of the probe, and a bipolar snare (110) extending distally from the distal end of the probe and including first and second snare electrodes (112, 114). The bipolar surface electrodes (122, 124) are separated from each other by a gap and extend over a portion of the distal end of the probe. Providing both a bipolar snare and bipolar surface electrodes advantageously reduces thermal spread from occurring (compared to the use of a monopolar snare) when using the snare to excise the tissue. The bipolar surface electrodes can be used to coagulate the point of excision.
