摘要： Disclosed herein is an electrical signal generation system (10). The system (10) comprises an optical repetition rate multiplier (12) arranged to generate from a received train of light pulses (14) a modified light pulse train (18) having a pulse repetition rate that is a multiple of that of the train of light pulses (14), the optical repetition rate multiplier (12) having a plurality of selectable configurations that control the optical repetition rate multiplier to generate the modified light pulse train (18) with a respective pulse repetition rate. The system (10) comprises a microwave-frequency optical detector (20) arranged to detect the modified light pulse train (18) and to generate a microwave-frequency electrical signal (22) from the modified light pulse train (18).
