    • A conductive material for use in interior coating of a cathode ray tube (CRT), which includes an aqueous dispersion medium containing potassium silicate and a dispersing agent; and graphite particles. The potassium silicate of the aqueous dispersion medium has a silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ) to potassium oxide (K 2 O) mole ratio in the range of 4.5:1 to 6:1, and is prepared by adding hydrosilica gel to a potassium silicate aqueous solution having a SiO 2 to K 2 O mole ratio less than 4.5:1. When the conductive material, which uses potassium silicate dispersed in an aqueous dispersion medium with a SiO 2 :K 2 O mole ratio in the range of 4.5:1 to 6:1, as a binder, is applied to form a conductive layer on the funnel of a CRT, adheviseness of the conductive layer markedly increases. Use of the potassium silicate as a binder decreases the amount of gas released during a hot-evacuation process, and thus shortens evacuation time.

    • The present invention relates a liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel assembly including a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, a gate driver applying gate signals to the pixels for application of data signals to the pixels, a data driver selecting gray voltages corresponding to gray signals and applying the selected gray voltages to the pixels as the data signals, and a signal controller providing the gray signals and control signals for controlling the gray signals for the gate driver and the data driver. The data signals include normal data signals and a black data signal. The data driver alternately applies the normal data signals and the black data signal to the pixels under control of the signal controller. A scanning direction of the normal data signals is opposite in adjacent frames. Accordingly, respective holding periods of all the pixels for the normal data signals and the black data signals are uniform, and then image quality of the LCD is uniformed to be improved.

    • In a method of fabricating a liquid crystal display, an insulating layer for storage capacitors is reduced in thickness to increase the storage capacity while maintaining the aperture ratio in a stable manner. A thin film transistor array panel for the liquid crystal display includes an insulating substrate, and a gate line assembly and a storage capacitor line assembly formed on the insulating substrate. The gate line assembly has gate lines and gate electrodes. A gate insulating layer covers the gate line assembly and the storage capacitor line assembly. A semiconductor pattern is formed on the gate insulating layer. A data line assembly and storage capacitor conductive patterns are formed on the gate insulating layer overlaid with the semiconductor pattern. The data line assembly has data lines, source electrodes and drain electrodes. The storage capacitor conductive patterns are partially overlapped with the storage capacitor line assembly to thereby form first storage capacitors. A passivation layer covers the data line assembly, the storage capacitor conductive patterns and the semiconductor pattern. First and second contact holes are formed at the passivation layer while exposing the drain electrodes and the storage capacitor conductive patterns. Pixel electrodes are formed on the passivation layer while being connected to the drain electrodes and the storage capacitor conductive patterns through the first and the second contact holes. The pixel electrodes form second storage capacitors in association with parts of the storage capacitor line assembly.

    • The present invention discloses a liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof to speed up a bend alignment at an initial operation such as right after power on in the liquid crystal display with OCB mode. According to the present invention, the LCD, which includes a LCD panel, a source driver outputting image signals and a gate driver sequentially outputting scanning signals, at an initial operation, is controlled to output externial bias voltages to common electrode lines and simultaneously to stop the driving of the gate driver and the source driver, according as a first time passes, is controlled to output specific common electrode voltages thereto instead of the external bias voltages and simultaneously to perform a driving of the source driver and the gate driver. As a result, at an initial operation, by applying high-level bias voltages instead of the common electrode voltages to the common electode lines and simultaneously stopping the driving of the gate driver, the source driver and a back light, the speed of the initial bend alignment of a liquid crystal with OCB mode can be made to be high.
