    • An emissive device includes a substrate having a substrate surface; a chiplet adhered to the substrate surface, the chiplet having one or more connection pads; a bottom electrode formed on the substrate surface, one or more organic or inorganic light-emitting layers formed over the bottom electrode, and a top electrode formed over the one or more organic or inorganic light-emitting layers; an electrical conductor including a transition layer formed over only a portion of the chiplet and only a portion of the substrate surface, the transition layer exposing at least one connection pad, the electrical conductor formed in electrical contact with the exposed connection pad and the bottom electrode; and an LED spaced from the chiplet and including a layer of light-emissive material formed over the bottom electrode and a top electrode formed over the light-emissive layer.

    • A method of making a color electroluminescent display device that includes determining a number of light emitting elements per pixel; and providing a substantially continually variable wavelength set of inorganic light-emitters having a spectral width. The same number of different inorganic light emitters is selected to emit light at the same determined number of different wavelengths and that provide the maximum color gamut area within a perceptually uniform two-dimensional color space. The color electroluminescent display device is formed having the same determined number of light emitting elements per pixel, wherein the light emitting elements in each pixel employ the same determined number of different inorganic light emitters.

    • A system for the correction of brightness and uniformity variations in OLED displays is described, comprising: a) an OLED display including a plurality of light-emitting elements; b) a non-volatile memory having uniformity correction information for the OLED display stored therein and permanently associated with and physically attached to the OLED display; and c) a controller connected to the OLED display and to the non-volatile memory for reading the information from the non-volatile memory, receiving an input signal, correcting the input signal using the information to form a corrected input signal, and transmitting the corrected input signal to the OLED display. Also described are OLED display device units comprising an OLED display and a permanently associated non-volatile memory, and a method for the correction of brightness and uniformity variations in OLED displays.
