摘要： There is described a releasable door locking device which incorporates a solenoid, The releasable door locking device may be incorporated in a slave unit which wirelessly communicates with a master unit to send a trigger signal to release the door lock. The releasable door locking device comprises a housing which is mountable to a door; a locking mechanism comprising a locking arm which is moveable between a locked position in which a foot of the locking arm protrudes from the housing and an unlocked position in which the foot is substantially located within the housing; and a solenoid release mechanism located within the housing. The solenoid release mechanism comprise a lever which is rotatable from a rest position to a release position to release the locking arm from the locked position; a solenoid which is configured to be activated by a trigger signal and which when activated engages with the lever to rotate the lever between the rest and release positions; and a resilient member which is configured to return the lever from the release position to the rest position after the locking arm is released; and a receiver for receiving the trigger signal.

摘要： The invention relates to an alarm siren detector and a method of actuating a locking mechanism on detecting the alarm siren. The alarm detector (10) comprises a locking mechanism (22, 24, 26) comprising a locking arm (26) which is moveable between a locking position and an unlocking position and movement of the locking arm between an unlocking position and a locking position is user operated. The method comprises detecting and sampling environmental sounds with a microphone; comparing the sampled sound with a reference pattern using fuzzy logic to determine whether an alarm is sounding; and if it is determined that an alarm is sounding, releasing the locking mechanism so that the locking arm automatically moves from its locking position to its unlocking position. An application of the invention to a fire door enables it to be held open legally, since the door will close automatically as soon as a fire alarm is triggered.

摘要： An electrical data connector comprises a plug (2) that is configured for insertion in a longitudinal direction into a complementary receptacle (6). The plug (2) includes a connector element (10) that is configured to be received within the receptacle and carries a plurality of electrical connectors, a body (14) that is located externally of the receptacle when the connector element is inserted into the receptacle, and a releasable locking mechanism (22) for locking the plug positively to the receptacle to prevent unintentional removal of the plug from the receptacle. The locking mechanism includes a locking element (30) carried by the connector that is configured for movement between a locked configuration in which it protrudes from the connector element and an unlocked configuration in which it does not protrude substantially from the connector element, a locking control (20), provided on the body, for manually actuating the locking mechanism, and a drive mechanism that connects the locking control to the locking element, whereby operation of the locking control actuates the locking element. The drive mechanism includes at least one longitudinal sliding element (26) that is connected to the locking control and at least one transverse sliding element (28) that is connected to the locking element, wherein said longitudinal and transverse sliding elements are located in a common plane and are configured such that longitudinal movement of the longitudinal sliding element drives transverse movement of the transverse sliding element, thereby actuating the locking element.
