    • Support frame (10) for a rolling stand, in which a first horizontal rolling roll (22) and a second horizontal rolling roll (23) are provided, opposite each other with respect to a nominal rolling axis (X). The first horizontal roll (22) is supported at its ends by two first chocks (22a, 22b) and the second horizontal roll (23) is supported at its ends by two second chocks (23a, 23b). The support frame (10) comprises a first shoulder (1 1) disposed on a first side with respect to the nominal rolling axis (X) so as to maintain in a determinate position one of the first chocks (22a) and one of the second chocks (23 a), and a second shoulder (12) disposed on a second side opposite the first side with respect to the nominal rolling axis (X), so as to maintain, in coordinated positions with respect to the first shoulder (1 1), the other of the first chocks (22b) and the other of the second chocks (23b). The support frame (10) comprises a spacer element (19) of the replaceable type interposed between the two shoulders (1 1, 12) so as to define a desired and modifiable reciprocal distance between the two shoulders (1 1, 12).

    • Treatment process for stainless steel bars, in particular a solution quenching, to be performed directly in-line downstream of the rolling mill which makes it possible to obtain a material devoid of intergranular corrosion and with microstructural characteristics suitable for subsequent uses. Advantageously, said process also makes it possible to improve the productivity of the entire rolling plant. The treat­ment is suitable to be performed on austenitic, ferritic, or austeno-ferritic stainless steel bars, Al-Cu alloy bars, Nickel alloy bars, and all other alloys requiring rapid cooling in order to prevent undesired phase precipitations. Prevention of inter­granular corrosion obtained with the treatment process of the invention makes it possible to prevent problems, and relative costs, during surface treatment of the bars and those that could occur in final use.
