摘要： A printed circuit board includes a first layer stack and a second layer stack coupled to the first layer stack. The first layer stack includes a first electrically-insulating layer, a first electrically-conductive layer, and a cut-out area defining a void that extends therethrough. The first electrically-insulating layer includes a first surface and an opposite second surface. The first electrically-conductive layer is disposed on the first surface of the first electrically-insulating layer. The second layer stack includes a second electrically-insulating layer. The second electrically-insulating layer includes a first surface and an opposite second surface. One or more electrically-conductive traces are disposed on the first surface of the second electrically-insulating layer. The printed circuit board further includes a device at least partially disposed within the cut-out area. The device is electrically-coupled to one or more of the one or more electrically-conductive traces disposed on the first surface of the second electrically-insulating layer.

摘要： An orthotic device according to embodiments of the present invention includes a substantially rigid internal footbed with an external rocker bottom, two struts rigidly coupled to the footbed, a paddle coupled to each strut, each paddle having an inner surface configured to face a limb of a patient, and a strap system configured to interface with the paddles for tightening around the limb, the inner surfaces of the paddles including a plurality of protrusions configured to minimize sliding of the first and second paddles with respect to the limb or with respect to a cast applied to the limb. The orthotic device may include two or more support layers on the footbed, each layer having a support aperture larger than and at least partially overlapping the support aperture below.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention include an apparatus for encouraging compliance with a prescribed orthotic treatment, including an orthotic device applied to a limb of a user, a strap coupled to the orthotic device, the strap having two ends and configured to wrap around the orthotic device at an attachment area, where a length along the strap is smaller than a maximum circumference of the limb distal to the attachment area, and a locking mechanism to lock the strap onto itself. Other embodiments of the present invention include a system for off-weighting a user's foot, including a hardenable cast; a rigid outer boot having a footbed, a first side strut with a first strap aperture, a second side strut with a second strap aperture, and a strap extending through the first strap aperture and the second strap aperture and operable to tighten around the hardenable cast.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for controlling the usage of devices with embedded RFID tags. An exemplary method may include connecting the device to an energy source and reading data from a memory device incorporated in the device, wherein the data may include a unique identifier (UID), a usage value, an activation value, a reprocessing value, and/or a sterilization indicator. The method may further include incrementing the usage value when the device is connected to the energy source, and incrementing the activation value when the device is activated permitting energy to flow from the energy source to an energy consuming component of the device. The method may further include preventing usage of the device if the UID is on a list of prohibited UIDs, the usage value is not lower than a usage limitation value, the reprocessing value is equal to a reprocessing limitation value, the activation value is equal to an activation limitation value, and/or the sterilization indicator does not indicate that the device has been sterilized since its previous usage.
