摘要： The present invention relates to pigments comprising (A) a platelet-shaped substrate (S), (B) a coating comprising two different metal oxides having a difference in refractive index of at least 0.1, wherein the metal oxide having a higher refractive indexis the metal oxide MOH and the metal oxide having a lower refractive index is the metal oxide MOL, wherein the amount of MOH and the amount of MOL changes (continuously), (C) a coating comprising metal oxides MOH and MOL, wherein the amount of MOH and the amount of MOL changes (continuously), and (D) optionally an outer protecting layer; a process for their production and their use in paints, ink-jet printing, for dyeing textiles, for pigmenting coatings (paints), printing inks, plastics, cosmetics, glazes for ceramics and glass. The pigments can show enhanced colour chroma while maintaining the lightness of coventional interference pigments, or vice versa.

摘要： The present invention relates to novel pigment mixtures comprising at least two different particulate components A and B. The first component A comprises titanium suboxide(s), a titanium oxynitride or a titanium nitride species. Component B particle comprises inorganic, or organic pigments. The titanium suboxide particles display a bluish metallic luster, are new and form a further aspect of the present invention. When combined with particles from component B such as variously coated micas, for example, the bluish or bluish/black metallic color effect from component A leads to special color effects in the various mixtures.

摘要： The invention relates to a method of forming (rutile) titanium dioxide-coated platelet-like pigments in which hydrous titanium dioxide is deposited on platelet-like particles followed by calcining, comprising (a) effecting the titanium deposit in the presence of an α-hydroxy carboxylic acid, especially glycolic acid, or oxalic acid, and an amino acid, especially glycine, alanine, valine, aspartic acid (α-, β- and γ-form); or an amino acid; to the pigments obtained by the method and the use thereof. The method can work in the absence of exogenous metal and Ti(III). The rutile TiO 2 -coated substrate of the present invention has at least the same advantages and characteristics of a tin containing product which includes luster, color, color homogeneity and few small particle formation during manufacture.
