摘要： The present invention relates to an apparatus for analyzing a metabolic profile in a biological sample. Further, it relates to a method for analysis of a metabolite profile in a biological sample. To provide such a method and an apparatus capable of identifying relevant information in biological samples to provide a metabolite profile of a biological sample in a reliable way within a manageable time an apparatus for analyzing a metabolite profile in a biological sample (17) containing at least one metabolite is proposed comprising:an input unit (16) for inputting the kind of metabolites to be screened; a controlling unit (12) for determining a parameter set (21) for metabolites preparation and for mass spectrometry analysis depending on the input of the kind of metabolites to be screened; a treatment unit (11) for preparing the metabolites to be screened depending on the determined parameter set (21); mass spectrometer (14) for performing mass spectrometry analysis on prepared metabolites depending on the parameter set (21); a database (13) for storing results of analyzing and parameter sets (21) for metabolite preparation and for mass spectrometry analyses; an evaluation unit (20) for evaluating the results of mass spectrometry by use of reference results stored in the database (13) to output an analysis of the metabolites profile.
