摘要： A method for deploying a telecommunications cable includes obtaining a payout arrangement including a length of cable, selecting one of the first end (212) and the second end (214) of the length of cable to access; accessing the selected end of the length of cable; and pulling the selected end to unwind the length of cable from the payout arrangement. In some embodiments, the cable is arranged around a pair of adjacent spools (320,330). In other embodiments, the cable is arranged within a container with access opening on the top and bottom. In still other embodiments, the cable is wound around a spool and at least one spacer. The spools are rotatably mounted. In some embodiments a figure eight winding pattern is used.

The breakout connector has first and second ends, the first end having a multifiber connector for an optical ribbon, and the second end having a plurality of single port connectors. A fiber breakout separates the optical ribbon into a plurality of fibers.
