摘要： An optical assembly is provided that includes a display panel, a substantially transparent substrate and an adhesive composition. The adhesive composition includes the reaction product of a miscible blend that includes one or more (meth)acrylate monomer, one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate oligomer and one or more free-radical generating photoinitiator. The one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylic oligomer includes an acrylic oligomer derived from (meth)acrylate monomers that is not substantially bonded to the adhesive composition after it has been cured by exposure to actinic radiation. Also provide is a method of making the optical assembly and a tape that includes a backing and the provided adhesive composition that has been cured.

摘要： Processing tapes have special properties to permit them to be used to prepare laminate articles, such as security articles. The processing tapes include a backing, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer and a release surface covering the pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The backing is a dimensionally stable transparent polymeric film, and the surface on which the pressure sensitive is coated may be a treated surface. The pressure sensitive adhesive is a transparent pressure sensitive adhesive that includes a crosslinked (meth)acrylate-based polymer and has a refractive index in the range of 1.45-1.55. The (meth)acrylate -based polymer includes alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers and may include acidic monomers.

摘要： Laser-personalizable security articles include a multi-layer security document and an optically transparent processing tape. The multi-layer security document includes an optically transparent cover layer, a composite image and an imagable layer adjacent to the cover layer. The first surface of the cover layer is at least partially a microstructured surface, where the microstructured surface forms microlenses or a lenticular surface. The composite image is made by a collection of complete or partial images viewed through the microstructured surface of the cover layer. The composite image is located on or within the second surface of the cover layer. The imagable layer is a laser imagable layer. The optically transparent processing tape sufficiently wets out on the microstructured surface to render the microstructured surface invisible to a writing laser.

摘要： An optically clear adhesive composition is provided that is derived from precursors that include from about 0 to about 50 parts by weight of an alkyl acrylate having 1-11 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, from about 40 to about 95 parts by weight of an alkyl acrylate having 12 or more carbon atoms in the alkyl group, from about 5 to about 20 parts by weight of a copolymerizable polar monomer, and an initiator. The adhesive composition has a moisture content of less than about 1.0% when the adhesive is positioned in between two release films and placed in an environment of 85C/85% relative humidity for 72 hours and then cooled down to room temperature. Moreover, when the adhesive composition is placed between two transparent substrates and made into a laminate, the laminate has a haze value of less than about 5% after the laminate is placed in an environment of 85C/85% relative humidity for 72 hours and then cooled down to room temperature.

The composition at least two components selected from the group: (a) from about 50 to 95 parts component A, an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer having a T?g#191 of about 25°C or less, wherein the alkyl has 4 to 18 carbon atoms; (b) from about 30 to 50 parts component B, an ester of (meth)acrylate monomer having a T?g#191 greater than about 25°C, wherein the alkyl has 4 to 18 carbon atoms; and (c) from about 1 to 40 parts component C, a monomer selected from the group consisting of hydroxy alkyl (meth)acrylate; unsubstituted (meth)acrylamide; N- alkyl susbstituted (meth)acrylamide; N , N -dialkyl substituted (meth)acrylamide; monomer containing urea functionality, a monomer containing lacatam functionality; tertiary amine, alicyclic amine, aromatic amine, and combinations thereof. All parts are based on 100 parts of the adhesive composition.
