    • A motorized power assisting device capable of delivering various desired brake characteristics and improving brake feeling by controlling displacement according to the absolute displacement of an input member so as to make variable the relative displacement relations between the input member and an assist member. A target displacement that makes variable the relative displacement relations between an input piston and a booster piston is set according to a detection signal by a potentiometer (86) (an input absolute displacement detecting means), and a displacement is controlled based on a signal from a relative displacement sensor (100) that detects the relative displacement between the both pistons so that the relative displacement between the both pistons agrees with the target displacement. Controlling the relative displacement between the input piston and the booster piston in this way can deliver various brake characteristics such as brake assist control.
