    • The present invention provides a transfer method and system for a peer-to-peer overlay network. The transfer method for the peer-to-peer overlay network is used for searching for a relay node between a source host node and a target host node in the peer-to-peer overlay network which comprises multiple host nodes and a bootstrap server. The transfer method comprises the following steps: acquiring coordinates information by the communication between the host node and the bootstrap servers, wherein the coordinates information is used for calculating the time delay between two host nodes based on a distance prediction mechanism; performing host node clustering to make a part of the host nodes as clustering agent nodes and the other host nodes as the host nodes belonging to the clustering agent nodes; selecting, from the clustering agent nodes, the relay node between the source host node and the target host node based on the distance prediction mechanism. With the transfer method and system for the peer-to-peer overlay network of the present invention, effective relay node can be found rapidly in the peer-to-peer overlay network, so that a substitute route with shorter time delay, higher efficiency and stronger stability is established, and high performance communication of peer-to-peer is realized.

    • The system and method, applicable to video display port applications, reduces the jitter in a regenerated data stream clock by using a first-in first-out (FIFO) storage memory to average the variations thereto. The method comprises loading the data extracted from data packets, received over a high speed connection, into the FIFO and running the application using the data in the FIFO. An initial frequency value of the stream clock Fvid is generated from the link clock Flink. Two integer values received over the link, M and N, that establishes a relationship between Flink and Fvid, are used to initiate recovery of Fvid. Lower and upper limits are set for data in the FIFO and the value of Fvid is adjusted to keep the level of data stored in the FIFO within these limits. Accordingly, variations of Fvid are averaged over the limits of the FIFO, thereby reducing the jitter.

    • Multiple video streams can be transmitted over a high speed link. A connection with a receiver can be detected by a transmitter. The transmitter can then establish a link with the receiver. Multiple streams of video data can be packed into a transfer unit. The transmitter can then transmit the transfer unit with the multiple stream video data over one or more lanes of the link to the receiver. A high speed communications link between a receiver and a transmitter can transmit data for multiple video streams over a single lane within a data link. The high speed communication link is scalable in bandwidth and video/audio streams transmitted, and backward compatible with other types of video data communication connections. The high speed link may support up to eight video/audio streams simultaneously, thereby enabling full use of data link bandwidth.

    • High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) receivers use digital multiplexer at the input stage after equalization, clock and data recovery for each channel of each port. Described herein, ref : fig. 2, is the use of an analog multiplexer 210 for HDMI receiver. The purpose of the analog multiplexer 210 is to reduce the die size and power consumption by selecting the input signal from one port out of a set of input ports, 110, 120, 130, right after the equalization 150 and hence use only one block of clock and data recovery (CDR) circuits 160 for the receiver. This sharing of one block of CDR circuits 160 between all input ports requires the use of analog multiplexer circuits 210, as the signals presented to the analog multiplexer 210 after equalization 150 are of low signal strength and have insufficient signal-to-noise ratio to allow handling by digital multiplexer circuitry.
