    • New QWERTY key layout text entry method, which is designed to allow users to achieve high-speed text entry for alphabets, numbers and symbols, on relatively small-sized devices such as cellular phones, smart phones. IP phones, landline phones, PDAs, watches, remote controllers, game controllers, Karaoke controllers, car navigation controllers, single-hand use assistive PC keyboard and other electronics devices. A single character is assigned to each key, comprising of a manually operated single actuator element beneath each key. One extra character is assigned to the space inbetween two keys, and double key press operation at the position of middle space area between two neighboring keys generate additional unique state, when both actuator elements are simultaneously activated. Six keys in a same row can generate total 11 unique states by single action of key press operation such as 1 st row[QWERTYUIOP@], 2nd row[ASDFGHJKL;'],3rd row[ZXCV8NM,./?],4th row[SHIFT, SPACE, ENTER], and also supports a SHIFT plus key operation to cover numbers and all standard symbols available on a standard PC QWERTY keyboard. A 10-key device such as cellular phone, that has keys (1, 2,3,4,5,8 J, 8,9,0, *,#) in three columns by four rows, can achieve standard QWERTY keyboard functionality without changing the device's width, with six columns by four rows instead of 10 columns by four rows as we see in the market such as blackberry. This is achieved by making the number key size in half, and assigning two keys to a single number key, keeping the actual width of number key as same as the standard cellular phone keypad. Furthermore, by adopting this invention, the existing multi-tap [2abc] key layout keypad is also adaptable to achieve single key press operation for each single character entry of an alphabet, a symbol or a number.

Three different characters arc assigned for each single keypad, and one extra character is assigned to the gap space in between two keypads, comprising manually operated two actuator elements beneath each keypad. Single key press operation at the position of left, right, or middle part of the key-top convert three different states including simultaneous activation of the two actuator elements. Single key press operation at the middle gap space area between two neighboring keypads generate additional unique state, by right side of actuator clement of left side keypad and left side of actuator clement of right side keypad arc simultaneously activated. Three keypads in a same row can generate total 11 unique states by single key press operation. 12-key device such as cellular phone, keys ( 1,2.3,4,5.6,7,8,9,O,*,#) in three columns by four rows, can adopt Standard QWERTY keyboard's key layout with this invention, such as 1st row [QWERTYUIOP@], 2 nd row [ASDFGHJKL;' ], 3 rd row [ZXCVBNM,./?], 4 th row [SHlFT, SPACE, ENTER], and also double the key entry to cover numbers and all standard symbols on QWERTY keyboard with SHIFT+ key operation. Furthermore, the existing multiple key press text entry method for standard phone number-alphabet key assignment such as [2abc] method can also achieve by single key press operation without changing key assignment by adopting this invention.
