摘要： A composition comprises a thermoplastic and a nucleating agent. The thermoplastic can be a polyolefin selected from the group consisting of polypropylene homopolymers, polypropylene copolymers, polyethylene, polyethylene copolymers, polybutylene, poly(4 methyl 1 pentene) and mixtures thereof. The nucleating agent can comprise a metal salt of a phenylphosphonic acid. The nucleating agent can comprise primary particles having a mean aspect ratio of about two or more. The composition can also comprise an acid scavenger, such as one or more metal salts of stearic acid. The composition can be used to produce thermoplastic articles using, for example, injection molding and thermoforming techniques.

摘要： A textile article such as a floor covering or carpet is disclosed. In one embodiment, a floor covering is provided with a composition applied to the surface of the floor covering. The composition resists staining and dry soiling, and provides liquid repellency and stain release properties. The composition may employ a repellent component, a stain resist component, a stain release, and a particulate component. The composition may be applied to fibrous-containing textiles, such as carpeting. A method of applying the composition to a textile is disclosed. The repellent component may employ a fluorochemical, such as a fluorocarbon. The repellent may be acrylic-based or urethane-based, as two representative examples. The composition is adapted for imparting to a textile a chemical finish that will resist moisture, release stains, and resist dry soiling.

摘要： This invention relates to textile substrates to which a finishing treatment has been applied during the manufacturing process. Such a finishing treatment provides improved water and/or oil repellency and stain and soil resistance. The finishing treatment generally includes a repellent agent, a stain release agent, and a particulate component. Other compounds may be added to the treatment, such as stain-blocking agents, crosslinking agents, coupling agents, antimicrobial agents, and pH adjusting agents. The components of the finishing treatment are generally applied to the textile substrate using an application process that results in layered structures on the surface of the treated substrate, which has been found to greatly improve the durability of the treatment. Such treated textile substrates thus exhibit excellent stain and soil resistance and water and/or oil repellency properties.

摘要： A powdered cleaning composition containing a particulate polymeric material, methylparaben, an inorganic salt adjuvant, and an aqueous or organic fluid component is provided herein. Such composition not only cleans textile substrates to which it is applied, but also imparts bleach resistance to the cleaned substrate by virtue of the residual composition remaining after cleaning. The present composition and process are particularly useful for cleaning textiles with pile surfaces, such as carpets.
